Re: Disgusting Ticket prices!

The other closest option is Kingston, eh? But its going to be a similar venue...I wonder if the prices are the same (didn't see it on the ticket-master site). Well, I'm going to hold out, hoping for another Toronto show in the future. That, or the ol' homeland of Montreal.

Re: Disgusting Ticket prices!

I have to agree...somewhat. For example, I wouldn't pay $100 (plus some $12 service charge) for the lowest price at the upcoming Hamilton show. I went there to see Bob Dylan last summer (lowest price being 50 something) and felt down that I had to look a pizza pizza advertisements around the arena. ...

Re: Randy Newman

I met him after his concert in Toronto. I was sitting around after the show with my friends, we saw an open door and found a small back-stage party going on. Mr. Newman said "hey guys, hows it going?" and then we talked about how we enjoyed his concert and other stuff. Some guy kept tellin...

Re: Randy Newman

Randy Newman is a great man. I met him this year. He asked if I was a musician. I said that I played the guitar and he replied with a smile: "yeah, we all play the guitar these days. It has gotten pretty popular." A very down-to-earth guy. Great lyrics. "Old Man" and "Texas ...

Playing the Favourite Game

I remember seeing this video clip some time ago on the CBC archives. It suddenly appeared where there were only two videos (from '66) before. It is of Mr. Cohen discussing his novel 'The Favourite Game' on Nov 12, 1963. Many apologies for not uploading it earlier. Enjoy, http://archives.cbc.ca/arts_...

Re: cohen song books

Hydriot, you are right. My copy is "Songs of Leonard Cohen. Herewith: Music, words and photographs" as well. It Just has a different cover. Most likely a different edition of the same book.

Re: cohen song books

I think I have this book you're speaking of. The cover is the same as the one from the album Songs From A Room (and it includes songs from both the first two albums + Priests). I don't think that it is listed on the Cohen Files gallery of songbooks. There was a little article on Leonard Cohen at the...

Re: I Wish I Were On Razorback Mountain

Secrets of the poem, eh? To tell the truth, there aren't many. It is pretty much about a person at the sudden moment of waking up from a dream that they once had as a child but had again later on in life. First he recalls fondly of the dream as if he were merely looking back on his childhood memorie...

I Wish I Were On Razorback Mountain

For my brother I wish I were on Razorback Mountain O grinning cliffs that gurgle happy streams And lily maidens swaying soft To organ winds that play the scene Of leaping swine that dance like gypsies My faded memories recall I must have been a trifle tipsy For now the mountains seem so small I wish...
