Typoglycemea is interesting & indicates what a power the eyes & mind, combines, really are. However "typo" processing would require the reader to 1st learnt the word either phonetically or as a sight word. The latter is the case for the 1st batch of words we learn as kiddies & ...

Andrew,
You weren't at fault . The melody that was sung was no where near the song. I can easily recognise the melody when kids hum it, (post Shrek). It was just a poor result.
cheers

The Story So Far: An Excursion Far From the Seaside
At that same moment... Doug and Bob are metropolitan policemen with a difference. Doug likes nothing more than slipping into little cocktail frocks before a large breakfast of jugged kippers & junket while Bob loves to bouffant his hair for a long night on duty. But, as they aren’t in this story...

Cohen Covers
Hi,
I'd go with the front of New Skin... followed closely by Live Songs & the back of Songs of Love & Hate.
For me the former places his music in context, the second describes the music inside & the latter well just the words Transfigured Night do it for me.
Cheers

My Way or the Highway
Thanks for the now definitive position on the authorship of My Way. I must say that I've always loathed the song.
From My Way to the Highway LC shouldn't cover Highway to Hell by ACDC.

LC Doco
Hi Tri,
That looks like a good cast & something to look forward to. Pity about the ubiquitous Bono though. He seems to have, & desperately needs to express, an opinion on all things. (Oh, a bit like me - "we hate in others what we see in ourselves")
Cheers

There way not mine
Hi, According to David Jones (Bowie) My Way is based on the melody of a French popular song that he was paid to write an English set of lyrics to in the 60's. He wrote a set & sent them to the publishers but besides his fee he heard no more of it until the melody turned up on the radio as My Way...

Sad song, sad song.
Hi all, I do like sad songs but prefer melancholy ones. Nick Cave over Janis Ian I like angry songs but prefer bitter ones. Elvis Costello over the Birthday party I like rebellious songs but prefer satirical ones. Nirvana over the Clash I like happy songs but prefer jubillant ones. Sugarcubes over S...

Cohen does Reed
I don't fancy LC doing all of Berlin. The title track yeah, The Bed & Lady day most certainly. Caroline Says would be a maybe though & Oh Jim is a definite nah.
Perfect Day from Transformer & Street Hassles would lend theselves to Cohen magic.

Editorialism
jarkko,
Thanks. I was wondering how I'd go about that. This is a quite sophisticated engine. Forums on my trade union's site are primitive in terms of editing etc.
I'll be able to fix the odd error without taking up space henceforth.
Cheers

leo sayer or progeny
Hey,
Who left the young Leo Sayer photo on page four?
"I won't let the show go on..." Now there's a song LC could decline to exhume.
Cheers
& sorry for lowering myself to taking pots shots.

Fairport covers
Hi Jarkko & Co., The album I referred to is 1968's eponymous release, (Polydor 068 291-2). The version has only a male vocal as it was, probably, recording between Judy Dyble leaving & Sandy Denny joining. It is a bonus track on the CD & it is inferred that it was previously unreleased. ...

Suzanne versions
Hi,
Interesting ideas. Can't say I'm enarmoured of the Flack version.
Have any of you heard the Fairport Convention version from their 1st LP? If so what thoughts on such a trippy excursion?
Cheers

Obscure COVERS
Hi Folks, I bought a CD late last year that had some surprising stuff on it. It was/is Fairport Convention's 1st & eponymous LP. It was a shock because it is psych folk rather than the rediscovering of trad Brit folk & blend of rock that they are rightly famous for. The other shock was their...

oops
Sorry folks - there is a typo in the last post I sent. I'm typing one handed, with my left hand held in the air with pressure bandage attached. I sliced into my L thumb with a Stanley knife (box cutter to those from the US) & am amusing myself on line waiting until the flow has eased enough to p...
