Hi Kevin >

I KNOW he was a vegetarian around 1965, as it was mentioned, by him, in the film Ladies and Gentlemen, Mr. Leonard Cohen. I believe that he discontinued this around 1970, but I cannot be sure.

Hi margaret,

Haha, just what I was pointing out is that they didn't particularly like Real Gone and Rob liked the even newer one, not talking about the 2004 album.

Rob,

This thread is actually 2 and a half years old :P and only the last few posts were recently made... they were talking about the album Real Gone. Not his newest release.

Hi Beccka, I personally believe that any song of Leonards would be alright for children to listen to, but, I was in that post talking about songs that one can fully explain to children which are, from my own standpoint rated "G" yet still hold meaning for everyone. Though often a "hal...

If I were to somehow get a chance to go, then I doubt they will drive me/come with me... WALK? Damn... I hope to hear more about this as it gets cl...

Thank you very much for helping me find the tablature, and thank you Lizzy for reminding me, because I did in fact miss it

When I have time I will post my reasons.... maybe in a while as I learn the music...

So, are you working to fully adapt "A Singer Must Die" to guitar? Hi Lizzy Well I will certainly try to do that! I doubt that I will be able to perform it till about 6-10 months from now when I have a general understanding of how to play the guitar (I am learning without a tutor, so it ta...

Hi Lizzy Well actually, though I do not play piano (many of my friends from a while back have, though Electric Guitar, which I do not care for as much, seems to be the most popular instrument here), I am learning to play Acoustic, and honestly, this was only after listening to Songs of Love and Hate...

I voted Waits, simply because I admire both of them, and Leonard's voice right now is, though not as... the only way I can safely say it is "Tom Waits...ie" as Tom Waits himself... is very similar to Tom's, and the fact that they started out the same way (very classically, Acoustic and Pia...

Oh, that's wonderful, Andrei 8) ! I wonder if you may be the youngest, current member participating here :D ! I'm so glad I asked. I wish Roberta from the Sony Discussion Board were still around. You would really enjoy her!! She's older now, but was 15-16 at the time... approx. 4-5 years ago. In to...

(1) How old were you when you first listened to Leonard? I was 13 from what I best remember (could be 12), my brother showed it to me. He himself only liked LC for a very short amount of time. (2) How much did you understand of the sexual/violence references? At that time I listend to a very simple...

I was not introduced to Leonard Cohen by my parents, but had to discover** him for myself. And I am lucky to have found him at an early age... though sadly (and it's kind of ironic as I go to a school in Canada full of Jewish people.... and I am neither Canadian by birth nore Jewish as Leonard is) n...
