Re: Cohen/Dylan dichotomy

Joney Nothing personal but anyone who uses a cat as an avatar is most definitely never going to appreciate Bob Dylan. Ta Ken http://www.google.com/url?source=imgres&ct=img&q=http://tiltingsuds.files.wordpress.com/2010/12/bringing-it-all-back-home.jpg&sa=X&ei=-wsvTeu7BcrRrQfK6d39CA&a...

Well it'll feel better after that first Tequila. Hope to see you this evening. My local number is Zero1Two754763. C...

Re: Phnom Penh Meet-Up

Thank you scocoh. For Gala et al - The Intercon while convenient to Olympic Stadium is not so to much else except the Russian Market. Fortunately metered taxis are available and reasonably priced. For a little less money one can catch a tuk-tuk (3-wheeled open air taxi) to get you around. Should be ...

Our doors open at 4:30pm. For those coming please feel free to contact me a...

I think it's safe to presume that Mr. Kory is in the best position to speak to the issue of Mr. Cohen's future plans.

Re: Announcement of the Nov 27 concert in Phnom Penh

One must remember that Mekong Sessions is not exactly "in the business". Chris Minko is a musician -- and Lenoard Cohen fan -- who runs an organization which benefits disabled people. In retrospect there are a lot of people who perhaps should have known better to give him as much responsib...

Re: Announcement of the Nov 27 concert in Phnom Penh

Would love to see Leonard come to HK. It wouldn't surprise me though if his associations with Tibet made a China trip difficult. Sure didn't work out well for Dylan.

Re: Announcement of the Nov 27 concert in Phnom Penh

Whoops - Excuse me whilst I wipe that egg off my face! I dont know how that got under the radar as I well remember Sihanouk (spelling?) - who seemed to be part of Cambodia - forever stepping down 5 or 6 years ago and also talking to people about the differences bbtween the roles the Kings play in C...

Re: Announcement of the Nov 27 concert in Phnom Penh

Jeff Do you promise to play nothing but his music the whole night the Garage so we can cry our eyes out and comiserate? If so I will certainly be there... Have nothing else to do in Phnom Penh and no desire to visit the genocide museum as I am depressed enough Karen Of course. But I'm hoping if we ...

Re: Announcement of the Nov 27 concert in Phnom Penh

I am sure we will get an announcement from the tour management as soon as they are ready, when they know all the facts. Hmm. Management had enough facts to cancel the concert on the one hand and express full faith in the local promoter on the other (at least according to the Mekong Sessions release).

Re: Announcement of the Nov 27 concert in Phnom Penh

For what it's worth, for those who do plan on making the trip to Phnom Penh, I hope you''ll make a stop at Garage, drinks on me (and his entire recorded output is here). As a huge fan this is terribly disappointing, but at least I'm local and didn't have to incur any extraordinary costs.

http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_VSwvUzL6GRo/TJawG7pXR0I/AAAAAAAABCw/VsG9g3Ozhtw/s400/dpwz330b.jpg The amazing Mr. Cohen celebrates his 76th birthday on Tuesday in the midst of a world tour which will bring him to Phnom Penh on November 27. There is enough in this catalog to enjoy several evenings with th...

You're entitled to your opinion but I don't know many expats who frequent FCC as there are a lot better choices for food out there. It's got a nice view and comfy chairs.

Re: QUIZ 2010: where is the last concert

FWIW the Mekong Sessions website, one of the promotors of the Phnom Penh concert today is positing Phnom Penh as indeed the last stop: As Zagreb, Croatia pulsates in anticipation for the first concert in this round of Leonard Cohen’s World Tour on 25 July, equal interest among the fan cognoscenti is...
