Oh dear, I am French and going on a trip to the United States for the first time in my life for the whole month of July, when the tour is apparently scheduled in Europe. Have been waiting for years to see Leonard and when he finally comes, I might be on the wrong continent, I cannot believe it! I am praying for the tour dates in France and neighbouring countries to be in August, somebody please tell me it won't be in July... I cannot cancel my trip as I am going there to meet my partner's family...

Am I the only person not totaly panicked here about tickets .....look at the members of this forum, we are a hugely disparate bunch, members from all over the world. Many of us will have too far to travel to make it a reality, some of us (like me in NY) may be lucky and get a venue close by - but I have spoken about this with many friends here in NY and not a single one of them has any interest in seing Leonard live. that's not to say it won't be sold out, of course it will, but a feeding frenzy, no. I think die hards like us all here will be so in touch with what's going on that we will easily get in the first round of either pre-sales or day 1 through Ticketmaster. the rest of the world not on this forum will wake up eventually a day or two too late.

If a NY or London venue holds a few thousand people, even 2/3000, tell me where there are 2/3000 forum members from each of those places on here - there aren't. We are the privileged few hundred (not thousand) that will easily get in first. New members on here are those that have always loved Leonard, and don't want to miss this opportunity, but that still only makes us a few hundred people, not thousands scrambling for a few tickets.

I have always wanted to see David Gray, missed the pre-sale and STILL got tickets for his NY concert on the day they were released by Ticketmaster. Likewise James Blunt, my wife wanted tickets, I didn't even know he was coming to NY and missed all the sales, eventually picked up two for $300 on ebay - and it was a sell out too.

Stop the panic guys, be thankful there is a forum like this for us to get early warning, early tickets and stop the feeding frenzy - you are all playing into the hands of the touts who must be waking up now to all your panic and realising they can get an even GREATER premium than they might have done.

Hi Max - my daughter is a member of the David Gray site and they had a similar offer on tickets when he was touring and the same problem occurred on his web site. People suddenly swapped the forum and arguments started.

She didn't manage to get a early ticket in that rush but she entered a competition to see David in a pub only 30 people there and thousands entered the competition and she won a couple of tickets. She was gibbering for days. So she got to see him in a very small venue and got to talk to him.

I saw him at Trafalger Square open air concert. Great concert

Some of you will know that my close friend Albert Matron has been a stalwart in obtaining stuff for the forum over the years. He spoke to me early this morning with a rumour he's heard that early chancers could try here ASAP. I've tried to connect but the lines seem busy.

Alas and alack, dear poppy. On this rare occasion I must disagree with you. Your grasp of the language and written word is not in question, but for the gravitas of the current situation I really do feel that the appropriate word is bullshit. But I've been wrong before (so many, many times) and I lay my heart open to be pierced by the throws of a silver quill.

As one of the "lurkers" in question, maybe I shouldn't comment... but what the hell? I've been an avid fan for nearly 40 years... I've been to shows on every European tour since the early 70s.... I damn well think I have as much right as anyone else to get a ticket this time around.... I was happy to take my chances with Ticketmaster or whoever, but if I can improve those chances, well, I so much want to be there that I'll do just that! I think there may be a problem with non-fans (can't think of a better way of putting it) joining the forum, just to get tickets, although I'm not so sure that this will be the bonanza for ticket touts that some seem to fear...

However, once the decision was made to provide preferential access to tickets, human nature is that fans (like me) will do whatever it takes... I wouldn't have had a problem if availability was only to members of the forum, prior to a given date, but it wasn't... so here I am, unashamed - a huge fan of Leonard, and being made to feel somewhat unwelcome by some of my soulmates....
you may be right, I may be crazy.... but it just may be a lunatic you're looking for...

blah, blah, blah, blah, blah..... plenty

We are not in distress or petty minded or spiteful or mean. We are just people who have formed a bond both on and off the forum.
I hope the people that get the tickets enjoy them and thank you so much Leonard and Jarkko. It really was a most wonderful gesture which is fast turning very sour and I know that is not what was intended.

Fantastic news!!! Many many thanks to Mr Cohen and Jarkko! I would log in during saturday or sunday for the latest rumours and I 'm finding a new thread with lots of LC fans!
Well, I''ll do my best to be in Canada, it would be heaven sitting at the FIRST concert!!! The same at the SECOND or... so on...
Will be my first one in Canada. It's a long time since I longed to visit this country. Do you think a full month is enough?
Many thanks once more

sounds to me more like you are seeking some sort of recognition from the new members (most of who have lurked here for some time) as some sort of senior figure because you post mundane drivel here on a daily basis rather than just using it as an update/news forum like the majority.

i honestly dont feel like i owe you anything... you dont want to use this system to get better tickets cos you want to prove some point no-ones even listening too? go for it throw your toys out the pram its fine by me... just means more tickets for me and all my ticket touting, ebay loving, scalper friends. haha.

Knickerless - without the mundane drivel I and possibly others posts there would not be a forum.

Good luck on the tickets.
