I am so excited at this news. I've been a fan since I was sixteen. I called the Opera House this morning - they knew what I was calling about even before I spoke! However, the Opera House management weren't even aware that the gigs were confirmed and they didn't know when tickets will go on general sale. I hope I manage to get tickets...

I'm in Liverpool so this is close enough for me! Any idea when tickets are going on sale/the best way to get them?

I agree, the Bridgewater would have been perfect. But never mind, eh?!

Can't wait!

Gonna come up from London because the 02 arena is as lame as it gets, I'd much rather see the great man in a smaller hall in Manchester!

Never been to the opera hall before but totally agree about Bridgewater, saw the magnificent Lou Reed there a couple years ago and the sound was terrific!

I've just phoned the Opera House direct and the guy said the tickets should go on sale on Friday morning - through Ticketmaster - though he couldn't confirm it for definite!!

Well, Cortez... it looks like we won't meet. I've just spent all of my current money on seeing Leonard in Montreal. It's his hometown. People will be thrilled to see him there the first night [have a ticket] and not wanting him to leave the last night [have a ticket]!

I got the most expensive one for the first night. It started out as being B-7, but by the time the transaction completed it was BB-11. Quite a difference!

I got the secondarily expensive one for the last night. It's in E-38.

Either way, even though not 'ideal' seats, I'm at least seeing him in a great venue! Now, I need to figure out how to get there... and that's what eliminates Europe this year, by the looks of it  .

Maybe another time...

I feel that I must warn potential visitors to Manchester that it is a horrible rain-plagued, smog-enshrouded hovel where it's simply not safe to walk the streets.

I really would urge you to steer clear of this foul and contemptuous city.

I say all this purely out of a sense of altruism and with no self-interest whatsoever.....

Definitely do want to come to Manchester. O2 Arena sounds awesome, but I hate London.

Good for you Lizzie! You really outsmart the rest of them. Montreal sounds wonderful, but i´ll stick with manshester. A rainy English town can´t be wrong, just have to get a new raincoat. :D

Although I'm in London I will definitely be trying to get a ticket for 20th June in Manchester as it's my 39th birthday on that day!!!

I never thought I would live to reach my 30s (long story I won't bore anyone with now) so to be nearly 40 and have Leonard performing on my birthday - WOW - life is pretty special somedays!

I went to the 02 for Springsteen last year and really don't rate it as a venue hence my willingness to come North!

Good luck everyone when the tickets go on sale.

You can get a seating plan for the opera house from here:

It would be great to be in the first 5 rows.
