Toronto Tickets - did you get them?
Re: Toronto Tickets - did you get them?
Should be fairly good (though I so wanted the front orchestra section...sigh) according to a friend who's been to the Hummingbird center a few times. Apparently it's a great venue for this sort of concert.
(Oh, and to correct my earlier post: you're actually in front of me, so you'll have to do the turning around and waving)

Re: Toronto Tickets - did you get them?
I scored Friday night, Row E (5th row in the second Orchestra section) on the left side. The rows AA - HH are generally for people with memberships/donors etc.
It's 2 rows up from where I was for Etta James. My memory of the venue is that the acoustics are good no matter where the seats. It's also quite high - steep ramps. So you're actually closer and looking over the stage than you are in most other venues.

Re: Toronto Tickets - did you get them?
I was unable to get $250 ones -- I finally put in "any price" and got two orchestra $175's, then logged out and tried to log in so I could get 2 for our boys under under husband's forum name and could not get it right (he must have told me the wrong username -- or I heard it wrong). Anyway, could not buy another two under mine, so got 2 under AMEX front of the line. Still orchrestra but we will be sitting apart (probably a good thing). So.... I don't know if I could not buy another 2 because my "limit" had been taken, or because our fan club seats had sold out.
I tried numerous times to get the $250. seats and being told nothng could be found, before trying under "any price" , so I wasted precious time. But this was my first time on Ticketmaster in years.
Anyway, my husband and I met and fell in love 3 years ago -- our clue that we were soul mates happened when we discovered our mutual love for L. So this is a real dream come true. We said we would travel anywhere to see him if he ever toured again-- and I guess we thought that was a snowball's chance in the hot place.
Just want to say, though, that although my husband has been a fan since he was 17 -- we are 54 now-- and he often lurked online here -- but never joined until this week. So I suppose he is one of those being maligned -- who joined this forum just to get tickets. And since two of our 4 came from AMEX I guess that is kismet. I have been an unregular member for a few years.
I am disappointed that there is so much anger here because so many want to see the man in person. I would have thought fans would be happy for him and wish every ticket sold.

Re: Toronto Tickets - did you get them?
Well, I got in very quickly and got two seats for Friday
ORCH13 O 4 - 3
Only problem: my friend and I were planning to get tickets for Saturday. In my overzealousness I accidentally clicked on Friday and didn't notice! My friend's panicked about asking for an extra day off his summer job (we'd need to leave Thurs because we live in NYC, and he already asked for a week off earlier).
Anyone accidentally got (comparable) tickets for Saturday and want to swap?
No matter. Whatever the circumstances, this is wonderful. Thank you Jarkko & leonardcohenforum.
By the way, has anyone ever been to this venue? Do you know if we have a good view of Cohen from these seats?
Thanks

The rows right in front of the stage are the "AA" and on. After the first break/aisle is "A". Start counting to get an idea of where you'll be.
The venue only holds about 3300 I believe. When shows sell out, they have standing room at the back as well.
The upper deck has the mezzanine then balcony (you can see the break between the two). Seats in the low numbers (1,2,3 etc.) are on the far side, seats with high numbers are on the near side (just out of view of the camera).
There's also a larger seating chart on the web site:

I wonder if a bunch of fans are going to get together for lunch? That would be great!

Re: Toronto Tickets - did you get them?
Now the worrying begins.
I am flying in from the UK so wanted tickets for both nights but then saw they only accpeted one order per person, then I saw that American Express card holders could also pre order, so i placed an order through that in what I thought was my wifes name, but as I was already logged into ticket master they put it through in my name.
So 2 tickets via the forum password for Friday night in Orch3 row KK and 2 tickets for Sat via American Express in Orch8 row E.
Now I just hope they do not cancel both orders!

Oh, that sounds like a great idea. Although I don't think I'd be able to eat anything...maybe drinks. Will definitely need a drinkMichanelle wrote:

Don't worry, it's not THAT big a venue. Well, it's not a stadium. Ballets are performed there. He's not going to look like an ant to anyone.
I'm Mezzanine Row AA, just to brag

Re: Toronto Tickets - did you get them?
Kittos Jarkko and thank you leonardcohenforum for existing
I got tickets for Saturday the 7th. I will also be the one crying... Orchestra WW right of Centre. I couldn't get the $250 it kept telling me to come again. But to be in in the same place as Leonard Cohen is more than I have ever dreamed.
I am new at the forum but not to the leonardcohenfiles. I religiously read every category. On Monday I came to the files looking for the lyrics of One of Us Cannot be Wrong and that's when I found out that Leonard Cohen was touring! I have not been able to sleep since then... hopefully I can sleep tonight
See You in Toronto
, I will be driving from Boston.
