I'm from Rome and I bought my tickets at an authorized sales point. However, I hadn't found any problems when I had tried the online process.
I think you could also try by either emailing at: assistenzabiglietti@lottomaticaservizi.it for further information or, even better, by phoning. I'm copying here what's written on the listicket website about the attendance call centre:

"the number of telephone from abroad is 0039 06 3700106. The service is active from Monday to Saturday from the hours 10,00 to the hours 13,00 and hours 14,00 - hours 18.00."
