Tickets will be available through

http://www.montreuxjazz.com
http://www.ticketcorner.com

But as the websites might be blocked and inaccessible for hours (this was my experience last year) and the tickets for some concerts already gone once you were able to access, for all those living in Switzerland and not having to work at 11 am it is best to go to one of the ticketcorner selling points, preferably one of the bigger train stations.
Good luck for all of you! (I prefer to go to Lyon and Lörrach instead..:-)

IMPORTANT NOTE:

No tickets are sold through Montreux Jazz Festival by phone. So DO NOT phone the festival!!!

If you want to order tickets by phone, you have to call Ticketcorner.
Their number is:
0900 800 800 in Switzerland

From Germany: 01805 10 14 14 (EUR 0.14 / min.)
From Austria: 01 205 15 65

From all other countries, their number is

GOOD LUCK!

It looks like this year's Montreux Programme will be a blast.
Not only Leonard Cohen, Paul Simon, Alicia Keys and Lenny Kravitz will perform, no, on Sunday July 6th JOAN BAEZ and KD LANG will perform as well and Sheryl Crow with Joe Jackson on Saturday 5th!!

I've just had the most frustrating morning!
At 10am i was on the ticketcorner website, managed to place two good seats at the Stravinsky auditorium (joy!), went through registration, entered card details - then was told that I had to be resident in Switzerland or Lichtenstein.
I am gutted!
Hope everyone else has better luck xxx

Is there really anyone here who paid 350 Swiss Francs (220 EUR!!!!!) for a seat or 140 Swiss Francs (almost 90 EUR!) for a standing ticket at the very back of Auditorium Stravinski ??
So the prices were even higher than I expected.

Bought me a ticket for the evening with JOAN BAEZ AND K.D.LANG instead for only 55 EUR...

I am happy to be able to see Leonard in Lyon and Lörrach WITHOUT paying a fortune..

After few unsuccessful attempts to buy any tickets available, I managed to buy the cheapest one, 140 euros. Is it really a bad position? Is the Stravinsky auditorium very big?
Do you know any hotel nearby where to book a night?

I forgot. I am Italian and there were no problem at all. I am surprised that you got the message that you have to be a Swiss resident

I am really surprised and frankly deceived...
Sold out in only 8 hours! How unfair is this!
As many others, I am working during the day and couldn't go online at 11:01 to buy tickets straight away...
I expected to be able to buy my tickets at least this eve, as all the other concerts didn't sell out the same day...
Hope that the concert will be taped just as the 1985 concert was.
I told you when I came I was a stranger...

Well, I've got to own up - I was so disappointed, and had to dash off to work - so i went on the World tickets .com website and paid 300 euros for a ticket ( and another for my sister-in-law). At least I know now that it will be the highlight of this year's swiss holiday.
I will try to get a ticket for Joan Baez when the SBB email us with Swiss railway offers. They did this two years ago and we were able to get tickets for Carlos Santana before they sold out.

That's the question that also bothers me very much. Does anyone knows about these places in Stravinski hall?

Hi! Eventhough I've been a fan of Leonard since I was about 10 (now 50+) and was lucky enough to get a "cheap" standing ticket, I just wanted to let the community know that I find Montreux prices INDECENT (140.- CHF standing, 280.- and 350.- sitting)! Officials said in the local press that it was due to the "excellence" of the Stravinsky auditorium setting. which is not even true! It's a nice concert hall, nothing more. The reason probably lies in the agent's greed, which I'd like to publicly condemn. Otherwise how can you explain that tickets in France or Germany are about 80.- CHF ???
