I also wish you all a great concert and nice party. I wanted to go but Jarkko told me to stay home and have an eye on the forum to keep it clean from spam. I tell you it is really a tough job. I lost 4 pounds already.

Please, please confirm there are Calgarians out there as excited as myself to be able to see Mr Cohen(hopefully). I am so pleased he is not doing a large venue, he deserves the respect and intimacy of the Jack Singer. Waiting for Pre-Sale Wednesday!!!

Hi Jim and others we were lucky enough to say hello to

Sorry we were not able to linger longer at O'Hurley's --- Linda became faint several times from heat and closeness and we felt we just needed to exit.

Will hopefully email some photos soon to those we caught up with.

Sure think all of us had a concert experience that is truly unforgettable forever! The fun people interactions were also wonderful. Let's hope for many more as this tour just keeps on ticking! :-)

Hi Everyone. Im new to the Forum
But Leonard Cohen's music has
been part of my life since my early
twenties... Did you ever notice how
deep his songs go ..Sometimes its
years before i realize the actual words
as the emotional spiritual impact is so direct.
Thanks to all for this wonderful site
Hoping to navigate the pre sale process
tomorrow for the Paramount Theatre
Oakland Show.... Yari

anybody from NYC thinking about the waterbury show?
it looks like transport is a mess, (last train back at 950) but the 2 hour ride and sitting at the bar/station/etc until 6am may be worth seeing the show in a relatively smallish venue. radio city is just so bland.

For those going to the Detroit show, I just checked with HockeyTown Cafe (like 3 steps away from The Fox itself) to see if they are having anything planned before or after the show in The Celebration Room.

When I went to see Van Morrison back in July it was held in that VIP room before and after the show. It sadly didn't seem to get a big turn out.

I sent an e-mail to HockeyTown about May 9. When I get a reply I'll pass it along here.

The Tigers will also be about a month into their season. Comerica Park is right across the street from The Fox and HTC for those that might be coming from out of town. I don't know if that date will be a home or away game. If they're home, it will be another crowded concert event all over the downtown streets and bars in the D.

To all who were at the Beacon VIP;

I remember seeing 2 ladies being interviewed during the reception.
Does anyone know who they were, who was doing the interviewing, and what was asked?

Best regards,
Mary

Hi Mary -

Eve and I enjoyed meeting you and George. There was a crew from a local TV station at the reception. I did not see them inteviewing two ladies, but I did see them interviewing a man and a woman in the lobby. The gist of the questioning was how far did you come to see the concert and are you looking forward to the concert (A really intelligent question. What did they expect the couple to say - no we're not?????????). The same crew was outside the Beacon after the concert and asking a few people about their reaction to seeing Leonard Cohen live. The Webb sisters were at the reception, but I don't recall the crew being near to them. That's all I know.

Thank you for the info. Too bad we didn't get a chance to chat longer at O'Hurleys where I recognized you from your wife's wonderful caricature - the whole atmosphere was a bit overwhelming.

Maybe, with luck, the persons who were interviewed are forum members and will give us some insight.

Warmest regards,
Mary

For those going to the Detroit show, HockeyTown Cafe did e-mail me back.

They said nothing is planned as far as an "official" meet up party as they had for the Van Morrison show in July.

The manager told me it would be "business as usual" that night. He said we can still meet up there, but there will be no resevered spot to do so.

Also, the Tigers will be playing out of town that day. Hopefully HTC will be less crowded as a result.

But this is where I'll be about 6pm to grab some dinner and a few drinks before the show. And again, for those coming from out of town, the place is right next to The Fox so you can't beat the distance.

Unless things have dramatically changed, the Waterbury train station is nothing more than a parking lot - you used to not even be able to buy tickets before getting on the train...things have probably changed.
