Paul, I think that we will have to travel to one of the countries SuzanneT mentioned, and meet her there ... :)

(ps. I think that Poland is out of game this time, as the Fall shows in Poland were the only one which didn't quite make it financially; at least that was mentioned previously here on the forum.)

Does this mean you have an idea what those countries will be, Tom? ;-) I think it's time to try Jarkko's "hinting" game...

I missed the part about Poland not making it financially; what was the problem, the tickets didn't get all sold? (they were expensive enough, as far as I remember)

I have not seen this mentioned here yet - according to Slovak ticket seller ticketportal.sk, Leonard will play the Incheba Expo Arena (in an exhibition centre), in Bratislava, Slovakia, on August 28. Tickets to go on sale SOON, says the site (whenever that may be...)
Having seen Leonard twice last year, I sometimes hope that they shake the setlist up a bit. Or maybe not - if it ain't broke, don't fix it ;-)

Laura, you got the answer from Vitoch :) - I think that Bratislava is close enough for SuzanneT, so she's happy :)

I wanted to say (before I saw Vitoch's post) that it's a capital city with B but maybe, I could give you a wrong hint so it's better I didn't do that 8)

NEWS -- Slovakia - Culture and Education

Cancadian Singer Leonard Cohen to Come to Slovakia
Bratislava, April 3 (TASR) - Famous Canadian singer, composer and guitarist Leonard Cohen, who became famous for his song Suzanne, will come to Slovakia on August 28 and perform at the Incheba Expo Arena in Bratislava, Jana Mudrinova from the organising agency told TASR on Friday.

Born in Montreal in 1934, Cohen attracted attention for the first time at university as a writer, issuing his first book of poems in 1956. His first novel followed seven years later.

In 1967, Cohen moved to the U.S.A. and began his musical career, issuing his first album 'Songs of Leonard Cohen' in the same year. His most famous hit comes from this album and was popular mainly in Great Britain, staying in the charts for more than a year.

These days, Cohen pays less attention to music from the 70's, concentrating more on writing film scripts and scores. In 1984 he accepted an offer to direct 'I am A Hotel'.

Cohen has recorded 11 studio and three live albums. He has been given the highest Canadian order - the Order of Canada, and has also won a place in the American Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Cohen organised a concert tour in March 2008 after a 15-year break, performing 84 concerts for a total of more than 700,000 fans.

Tom, there are a lot of B-capitals! Your hinting talents certainly require some practice. ;-)

so happy to hear about the eastern europe dates! i hope the dates in the balkans also materialise, i know quite a few people who will be stoked if it does, might be a good time for a visit even

however, whoever is booking these gigs has no heart, making poor old Leonard shuffle back and forth from east to west like that for two months seems kind of cruel

i mean, from germany to france, up to the uk then norway and ireland, down to spain & portugal, then to italy and central europe, then the balkans and then back to spain again???

quite a trek :?

Under the impression that nice message even challenged me a poem ;-) ... .. it is nothing amazing, just an immediate idea  ...( and excuse my bad English )

Every one tone up to the bone marrow,
every one word even further,
this is not a dream,
This is Leonard Cohen.
The strength of every one word hundred suns,
every one note million volts,
this is not a dream,
This is Leonard Cohen.
The heart of every one tone,
wisdom in the words,
this is not a dream,
This is Leonard Cohen...
What you have now is what you were, and what you will is what you do now...Buddha
