Confetti,

there is a translation - the best I could do - , but I am not sure what "DNA" means in this case...

"Leonard Cohen, Oasis, Charlie Winston, BB Brunes and Nina Hagen, who is having her comeback, are strongly sensed to decorate the poster of the 62nd "Foire aux Vins"-festival at Colmar this summer, taking place from the 7th to the 16th of August in the Parc des Expositions. Five names are to be added to Peter Doherty's Babyshambles on August 15th, and to David Guetta on August 12th.
The programme is not going to be disclosed until the end of the month by the organizers - and "everything is possible", as Claude Lebourgeois, the artistic director of the Foire festival (DNA of April 25th [?]), has said."

ooh thanks for that, i would love to go to that festival, my 2 favourite singers, although, the chances of Pete turning up might be slim, he has already missed 1 or 2 this year.

DNA is a paper, as it seems.

I really guess Cohen will be there, I even presumed this in THIS forum some time ago...

Besides, the venue reminds me of the one in Lyon where he performed last year. This and the fact that there is no concert in Switzerland (and Colmar is pretty close!) made me think of this. But we will know this Friday, and I guess it will become true! YEAH!!!!!!!! :) :) :) :)

Leonard Cohen in Colmar - where you can get the ticket!

Post by faithfully »

Here you can get your ticket for the Leonard Cohen gig in Colmar:

http://www.fnacspectacles.com/place-spe ... -FAV16.htm

Call me lucky owner of the Leonard Cohen in Colmar ticket - got my ticket - yeah!

Here is the line up of this year's Colmar Foire aux Vins (Wine Festival):

http://www.foire-colmar.com

Colmar, besides, is a beautiful city, only about 1/2 an hour from Strasbourg. And it's a romantic small city who is worth a trip! Indeed, always many tourists there, all around the year (in winter there is even a very famous Christmas market).

And guess who is from Colmar! Frédéric-Auguste Bartholdi, who build the State of Liberty in New York City! He was born in this small town, and amazingly exactly 100 years before Leonard Cohen as he was born in 1834 (but he is not longer alive).

The exact link to LC show on festival's site is http://www.foire-colmar.com/fr/programm ... 009-2.html (the link on the Files leads to the festival page) and it seems sale has started today - the link for buying leads to http://foireauxvins.eclaps.com/ where you have to scroll down and choose Leonard.

Tickets are only 47.50 Euros (!).

places are NOT numbered

Post by faithfully »

Good to know!

NO numbered places, but many many sitting places (about 80 % of the places!) but there is a ditch right in front of the stage.

This if f*** good thing! Tickets are NOT AT ALL expensive (regarding other Leoanrd Cohen concerts!) and first come, first served! If you arrive early you will be able to be right in front of the stage, that's great! And it's a Sunday - even better!

Does anyone have any more information on the venue; is it outside, near the town, any idea how large, etc? Many thanks ....

Yeah, here you got a lot of information about that venue - with pictures with audience and empty!

I can ad that is's an open air venue BUT with roof, but you get the 50-50 feeling then, not really inside and not really outside.

Smoking is allowed, that's a pity! I even complained last year as I had an argue with folks around me but they said it's allowed as outside. I was very angry as France is a country where smoking in public places is not allowed. But they claim it's outside! So don't be surprise to get smoke in your nose, eyes, clothes - just would like to warn you about some smoking buggers!

BUT sometimes it's the artist who doesn't allow - at all! Hopefully Leonard is one of these...

http://www.colmar-expo.fr/infrastructures_theatre.html

Need some translation?

2 448 assis et 3 042 debout sur un gradin bas en amphithéâtre

This means 2 448 sitting places and 3 042 standing places. If you stand and be there early (as I will :D ) you will be able to see Lenny from a very close distance! ;-) The stage is about 2 metres, so pretty high! Maybe better a bit back then, maybe??? The sitting places rows begin very close, so you would be able to see Lenny maybe better in the 1st row there. But come early enough...and it will be even on a Sunday!

The venue is at the skits on the town, in a fair area (tents, expositions) aside. There is a shuttle bus, which you can take from the station of Colmar and in the centre of the (small) city - only a few stops, about 20 minutes to the venue - the bus stops directly in front of the venue! Transport fee included in the ticket price BUT only shortly before the performance and after it. So I guess you rather would like to take a bus transport before, won't you! Then it will cost about 2 Euro I guess (not that expensive, don't worry! ) and the bus stops at the same place, right in front of the fair area, and from there you walk about 5 minutes through the fair area and you arrive and will be happy queuing :D Any further questions? Don't hesitate to ask me (I was there 3 times so far - Patti Smith, Iggy Pop and Alanis Morissette, so pretty 'experienced' about this Foire aux Vins (Wine Fair) Festival ;-)

Still 2 000 places available for this gig (asked 2 days ago in a Fnac store.)

So this was the last time I give an information to folks here!!!
