Since being ayoung boy of 14 year old i have gone to your performances whenever I could. The first time, in 1969 in Amsterdam, i lied to my parents, took the train and went to your performance in the Concertgebouw. Now, more than 40 years later, I will see you one more time when you come to Israel, where I live now with my family. Your words, songs and music are the soundtrack of my life, offering me wisdom in times of trouble, hope in times of despair and humor when sad. Many many times i have had the honor of watching you perform, while modern technology allows me to have your songs with me wherever I go. Throughout the years I have taught myself to play guitar and sing your songs, just for my own entertainment (and sometimes to the aggrevation of my children when they were young).
Last years concert in Amsterdam, on a grey evening in July, when the sun came out just when you sang "Haleluyah", I thought it would be the last time to see you perform, but here you are, full of energy, after revealing the Secret Of Life...coming to perofrom before 50.000 people who admire you so much.
Thank you, Leonard Cohen, for adding a dimension to life that can be seen and appreciated only by those who understand your words - or at least think they do.
