Re: San Jose
I thought I knew but I really can't figure out where my seat is.
Floor 1 Row 4 Seat 15. I guess I don't understand the numbering of the seats and I do NOT appreciate the Pavillion/Ticketmaster making such a mystery out of it. Is it seat 15 with seat 1 of that row being on the right hand wall of the facility, or is it seat 15 with seat 1 starting at the right hand edge of Floor 2 section? I'm sure this makes no sense as a question. I am trying to figure out if I am on the outside edge of Floor 1 or closer to Floor 2.

From what I've seen Esther - you SCORED! I've seen a seating plan (HP Pavillion website, Miley Cyrus concert being the closest to this and per there seat allocation info) with seat 16 being on the aisle next to Floor 1. Makes things sweet, doesn't it
? Now I'm off to search for seats again

And Graham, you will get chance to experience the virtuosity of Javier, Dino, Bob, and Raphael (from a little more distance) up close and personal! Plus, LC, as you know comes over a number of times to interact with Javier on this side. Ooops, I'm guilty of another sin - coveting my neighbors goods.

Re: San Jose
I went through the same dilemma about seats at the Spectrum in Philadelphia and was calling three days in advance trying to figure out seat numbers. I have papers with charts that I made.mnkyface wrote:I thought I knew but I really can't figure out where my seat is.Floor 1 Row 4 Seat 15. Re: San Jose
i'm with you, diana. i think it is SO unfair that his truest, most ardent fans, you and mary and mary and marsha and mutti and me and all the rest of us hardcores whose names i'm forgetting, are relegated to the sides while the rich you-know-whats sit there in the front row of the center section in what should be OUR seats. i'm seeing red over it. it's not fair. they'll be prattling and rattling their jewelry (to paraphrase john lennon) and their ice cubes and checking their stupid i-phones to see if their equally vacuous boyfriend/girlfriend has texted them in the last two minutes, not knowing, like you so rightly point out, who leonard even is. i am one of those fans who have (has? god i'm tired) been with him for 40 years and i'm not happy about this. i have spent my life savings following this tour this past year and i'm sitting way off to the side while some yahoo with money sits in my (and your) rightful seat. might have to write to a certain someone. i know i should probably save this in draft form, let it sit overnight, and take some of the vehemence out in the morning, but i'm with you. this needs to be said. loudly and clearly.ladydi wrote:I am so disappointed that no seats were open for the fans in FLR 2, which is dead center...and no one seems to have a seat in Row one, anywhere. I discovered that the center section is all for the highly inflated VIP tickets....and of course, you are not able to purchase one ticket, but you must purchase TWO tickets. So the front row and the center section will be populated with people who may not even know who Leonard is, but go to all the "in" concerts....and have big bucks. His fans, many who have been with him for 40 years, are relegated to the sides. Well, you know what...with all the snooty types in the center, all of us on the sides will make sure he knows our love!
some strange accident might befall the yahoos. they might have to be SMITED so that those of us who are SMITTEN will be in our rightful places. can anyone tell i'm losing it?
thanks diana for having the courage to tell it like it is. i'm with you, girlfriend. always and forever.

Re: San Jose
Not exactly true about section 2 being all VIP. I went in right at 10am and asked for best available at $85 level and was shocked and excited to get sec 2, row 30. Much better than I expected at that price level.
Re: San Jose
we're not talking about row 30, we're talking about the front couple of rows. did you not read diana's and my posts? we don't want to sit in the 30th row. no offense, glad you're happy with them.artca wrote:Not exactly true about section 2 being all VIP. Thank you for your kind words, Mary.MaryB wrote:Graham,
I would opt to keep Section1, Row2, seat 8. You would be sitting next to Mary/Mollydog - how good does that get!?!?!?! Although on the other hand, your seat in Sec3, Row 3, seat 5 puts you on the Webb Sisters, Sharon Robinson side. From what I can surmise, the seats in that section start at #1 next to the center section. You have to make the final choice yourself. I for one would want to sit next to Mary.
Best regards,
Mary (also)

Graham - I look forward to meeting you.

Where is everyone staying in San Jose? I have booked a room at the Hotel de Anza but I think a lot of people may stay at the Fairmont.

Re: San Jose
Thanks Mary! I found teh Miley Cyrus seating chart you mentioned and it does seem like seat 15 of Floor 1 is closer to the center. At first when I looked at that seating chart I thought WHAT on earth are those few rows with the stage inbetween them- than I realized it must be that Miley Cyrus uses a catwalk and ramps, and there are choice seats "inside" that area that she struts around. I can't imagine Leonard having that set-up but it did give me a chuckle.
Take heart about the tickets- I know you'll get good ones! I bet they are holding some for the public sale- maybe some Floor 2, Row 1! and there's always StubHub...ugh. (I know) Maybe there will be a lot of tix for sale here on the forum though...people who overbought, etc. I'm really tempted to try for 1st row in the public sale and then sell my 4th row ticket.

Re: San Jose
I couldn't afford to get good seats for this concert, but I can't pass the concert up!! Really psyched that my wife decided to come this time. She thinks she doesn't like Leonard Cohen, but that will soon change! I had some decent seats in Oakland, so it's ok to be sitting somewhere off in the bleachers.
Ah, these tricky times of ours.

Re: San Jose
I am leaning towards staying at the Fairmont...it looks fabulous, has a pool open all year round..and if you buy the non refundable tickets
they are really cheap...$104 -$125...
The Anza looks good too - I like art deco and it is only 3 blocks from the venue but as of now although I am booked at the Anza.
I think I am going to go for the Fairmont...I do want to stay where the majority are staying as that is more fun...
so lets keep this conversation going. I may book at both just to hold the room..and not get the non refundable yet..
what are others doing?

Re: San Jose
I think this is weird.... ever since I bought my ticket Thurs I have been checking "just for fun"...and for 3 days now keep pulling up the same single ticket: Floor 3, ROw 7, seat 7. This is not front row center or anything but it's not a bad seat! I wonder why it is still available. I guess not that many people buy single seats?

Re: San Jose
Esther, I got the same thing, FLR3 row 7, over and over again when I was trying for 2 seats. If row 7 is so bad and no one wants it, maybe they should reduce the price and move on
. Would be nice to see other options, if just for fun
