That'd be great, Phil :D .

Brysburg ~ Thank you for that clarification! All is well now... and, even though it was already too late to give TM the opportunity to give me world-class service tonight, I'll be doing it soon after 9:00 AM tomorrow morning. That venue is just scrumptious! Such great fortune for all of us and Leonard, as well 8) ! SOO0ooooooooo much more fitting!

Ticketmaster=Agony, Despair & So Much Wasted Time

Anyway, finally cancelled Ticketmaster (twice, after they inadvertently cancelled my original order), and drove down yesterday to TBPAC and got some great $71 seats in the front row of mezzanine 1 (these are great for me... I know others like to get closer though.. ..smile.. )

I have decided to pay homage to my youth as far as dress is concerned. In 1972 when Leonard entered my life I always wore a Levis blue denim shirt and Levis blue jeans. I was dressed as such when I heard the first bars of Avalanche of Songs of Love and Hate. So I'm going back to being 17 ( at least in my mind, although some would say I haven't moved past 17!!!) at least for an evening.
1 day closer.

Donna,
I'm eager to know how your ticket situation all panned out.

Yes, it IS going to be a great night for all, LindaB :D 8) :D !!

Good idea on your mode of dress, Phil :D .

Somnambulant ~ I'm happy you're pleased with the tickets you finally got because I believe you've been suffering the rigours of ill-trained Ticketmaster staff, who either don't have the script or aren't trained enough to be able to speak off script to interpret the situation for you. It's semantics.

With the original venue being the Times Forum, they HAD to 'cancel' that ticket and 'refund' your money to your card, so that the ticket they were holding for you at the Arts Center could be picked up on and your monies could go to the Center, instead.

Whenever anyone speaks first with TM, they need to get to the official customer service people ASAP. As soon as you tell them that the venue was changed, they ought to patch you through to the right people. They told me the same thing ~ twice... "Your ticket was cancelled." I asked how could they have already cancelled my ticket, when I got an email telling me that my ticket was being held and if they didn't hear from me by October 8, they would be mailing it to me!?!

When I got to the people at 'Customer Service,' they said they just had to rerun the credit card and it would be done. I challenged them regarding another processing fee and they said there wouldn't be one, that everything is technically all the same, they just have to go through these motions. But, that my ticket for the Center was being held until October 8 regarding whether or not I wanted a refund, and that they'd mail it, if they hadn't heard from me.

I had TM's email up on my screen, so every time I ran into a glitch with what was being said, I reread the email to them, and then there came another level of explanation. The first level of people who speak with aren't prepared to handle all the processing stuff, and they're not even prepared to explain that even though your ticket at the Forum was officially cancelled [since there won't BE an LC concert at the Forum], that a comparable ticket at the Center was being held for you until October 8, at which time they'd mail it to you, unless they heard from you that you wanted a refund, instead.

 Call centers

Mary,
After I had spoken to and e-mailed Jose,Gloria,Joshua,Jerry,Bradley,(Eli who told me my tickets had been cancelled!!!) then Lucy who realized she was in over her head 5 minutes into our conversation quickly sent me to Armando that makes eight people from Ticketmaster.... the whole mess (I hope) is straightened out. Armando recieved the blunt end of my frustration and was very eager to sort through all of of the e-mails and notes on my account. The final outcome is I do have seats Orch.Row DD, Seats 25-26. Armando typed out a confirmation while I waited on the phone. You see I had already been through this with some of the other names listed above and some e-mails never came others had information which contradicted each other. So Armando typed while I waited....he sent the e-mail.... I opened it and we proof read it together over the phone. My tickets will be held at the box office for me. I think Armando and I both needed a strong drink after all of that....So now I can focus on packing for my trip to Florida :D Thanks Mary for asking about my outcome. I am looking forward to the concert ...........

Donna,

What an incredible hassle you all had to go through to get your tickets  . I'm so glad that this whole mess is being sorted out and everyone is finally getting seat assignments. The tickets sound like they are pretty comparable to the originals. I would have been in total panic mode, especially when they are saying they need to cancel before they reissue  - NOOOOO!! Thoughts of getting disconnected and then when I call back they tell me there is no record of my original purchase, keep running through my head. Maybe this was one of my nightmare dream scenarios - so many disturbing dreams of all the things that could go wrong re concerts since the tour started  .

Believe me when I say I am breathing sighs of relief when all of you are posting your ultimate good results. And I'm not even going to this one, sigh :( .

Thanks for the update Donna and everyone else.

Warmest regards,
Mary

WHEW!!! What a NIGHTMARE, Donalagata! SO glad to hear you're right there, same row as I am :D ~ there are only two people sitting between us! Unfortunately, it seems that a lot of the front line, call-center staff for the TM account are over their heads! Your ordeal was even greater than mine    !

You're right, Mary, it DOES have that 'disappears into a black hole' feeling to it whenever you hear the word "cancelled" in ANY context!

At least the rewards for all this hassle will FAR outweigh the hassle once we're sitting in our seats and we watch the band, as smoothly and synchronistically as the Blue Angels, walk onto the stage and take their places and then everything explodes when Leonard appears. Golly dang gee... tears filled my eyes when I wrote that and they're still filling... . These concerts have become such an integral part of what goes on inside me.

Lizzy, You are absolutely right..... once the lights dim to a blue, purple hue and the music begins..... followed by the voice of our man.... we will all be transported to another place of peaceful harmony. All which we have experienced to get to this moment will just be a memory....

Looking forward to meeting you and the others who are traveling on this journey. My sister Sharon will be with me in Florida and this will be her first live Leonard Cohen experience. My sister Beth will be with me in Chicago and this too will be her first Leonard Cohen concert experience. I cannot think of a better gift to share with them.....

Well, actually, I need to reread what Brysburg wrote to fairly comment on that. There was one that seemed fairly simple and like we might actually be able to hear one another. Has anything struck you as a particularly good place?

I can't think of better gifts for your sisters, either. Neither will they, once they see him.
