Re: PRESALE to SLIGO on April 24-26
It's ok, I've gotten decent seats for the day before so I'm really happy, but it was just awful to have front row seats in the palm of my hand, only for a website cock-up to snatch them away again.sceachgeal wrote:Keep trying DeSelby. Myles na gcopaleen would not have given up that easily.
I've got my fingers crossed that my tickets have gone to somebody really deserving.

Sunday Concert
Just grabbed tickets !
Looks as if they could sell twice as many concerts. Maybe Leonard should just have stayed in Lissadell for a week !

I was so annoyed when it happened, I was composing an angry letter to ticketmaster in my head!
Re: PRESALE to SLIGO on April 24-26
Thank you, thank you, thank you Sceachgeal - I got Block A (row K) tickets for Sat in the presale and I was thrilled beyond belief. Tried to book tickets this morning for friends but with no success. Gave up, then I read your message about the Sunday concert, tried again, and lo and behold, I have two Block A, Row B tickets!!! Whoopee do! Now my only dilemma is... do I let my friends have the Saturday night tickets.. or do I pretend I couldn't get them any and just go to both concerts??? What do I value more - friends? - Leonard Cohen? Who has been my constant companion over 30 years, always been there in good times and bad... yea, it's easy isn't it? ... Leonard.
I live just 20 miles from Lissadell and I cannot believe Leonard is coming here. Sligo is so beautiful - as is Donegal and Fermanagh, where I live. Anyone having bother getting accommodation, do remember that you can also look in Fermanagh and Donegal - neither are a great distance away. But I can promise you all this - you are in for a magical treat in Sligo - landscape, Yeats, Lissadell, Cohen, I can't think of a better mix. Now where might Leonard be likely to show up over the weekend? Do you think if I draped myself over Yeats's grave for the entire weekend, there might be a chance of meeting the great man?

Yes I have some dilemmas too, keep the Saturday night or sell them on. I put the cart before the horse and got the B&B in Raghly first and am so glad I did now. You could probably cover the cost of the tickets and a few years mortgage payments–if you have one–by letting out your house and demesne for the weekend.Isi wrote:Now my only dilemma is...
I would certainly cast a cold on on drumcliffe and environs for a close up of LC over the weekend. Where will the band stay, will Lissadell put them up?

Good morning,
"Where oh where did 10,000 tickets go?" to the tune of "My Gypsey Wife".
No decent seats in presale on Saturday, tried in vain this morning using a multitude of computations and not a single seat. Trish O'Connell and I were in transatlantic mobile phone communication, she in Chigago and me in Dublin trying to find seats for Saturday. Luckily we managed to secure decent seats for Sunday night.
Would Leonard consider another week in Ireland such is the devotion for him in this country!
In song. Paula

Unfortunately they went to ebay where you can already be offered two tickets for nearly 500 euro. Is this the f.....ing free market economy at work. No wonder the world is such a mess. Where is Marx when you need him? Groucho, that is.Aloevera "Where oh where did 10,000 tickets go?" to the tune of "My Gypsey Wife".

I was wondering that too... wouldn't they be foolish not to? I have been imagining Leonard sleeping in W B Yeats's room , or just sitting up writing the most amazing poetry.

Re: PRESALE to SLIGO on April 24-26
first time post. thanks to all involved in the presale. it's awful to see tickets offered on e-bay but sadly that's par for the course nowaday. i was just wondering if anyone has an idea what traffic will be like, especially after the concert. If there is only one road back into Sligo it could be a very slow journey. Arranging meet ups after the concert may be impractical.
your love is a secret all over the block

Re: PRESALE to SLIGO on April 24-26
I can't believe that I've actually just bought a ticket for Sunday night as well - not as good as my Saturday night pre-sale tickets (Block A, Row L), but what the hell....just to be there, they are Block B row K, so not bad tickets either. Leonard 2 nights in a row, in beautiful Sligo, where my great grandfather originally came from. Does life get much better, I ask myself??

Re: PRESALE to SLIGO on April 24-26
Guys, has the 1st show sold out?
Re: PRESALE to SLIGO on April 24-26
I must offer my heartfelt thanks to "podgerodge" and "sceachgeal"! I just wandered on to ticketmaster this morning for the public sale hoping to find a better seat for a friend. Nada... Then sent a pm to a friend. Just as I was about to logout I noticed both your posts about TM now offering the 2nd concert! omg! I immediately re-signed in to TM and got Block A, Row B
Thank you soooo much!!
