Geez, aria, I likely couldn't even be there and I'm dreaming with you on that one! Such the perfect festival for Leonard to be featured!

Hi soullessme,

How did you miss out on Ireland? Two fabulous concerts at Lissadell House in Sligo on July 31st and August 1st! Just a month ago! And over the past 2 years Leonard has played NUMEROUS times in England, Ireland, and Scotland! Unfortunately, the next 6 weeks in Europe may be all that is left for this part of the world, so perhaps try to scrape something together...find the closest concert to you and either a cheap flight or boat to the continent...and enjoy. You will be creating a memory you will have forever!

Many of us have to work through financial issues, but Leonard is worth it, at least for one concert!

Good luck, and welcome to the Forum!

All the best,
Diana
Hi Diana

I've just returned to the uk recently, which is why I've missed previous gigs. I was living in NZ, and am a recent but devout fan of Leonard Cohen. There is still hope that I can go to one of the European gigs. Housing issues, is in reference to not having one, not a new sofa etc. I have to get money together to start renting, otherwise It'll be a cardboard box.

A quick question (although I'm pretty certain this was answered numerous times in the past).... I live in EST zone, and am wondering if, hypothetically speaking, the final concert is located in Las Vegas (just going on a limb here)... then do tix go on sale 10am PST.... or are sales staggered and go on sale at 10am in each time zone...

With great anticipation for this finale...

silence has spoken... allow me to re-phrase my question...

I am planning on getting tickets for the Dec.11th show (regardless of where the venue is...)
However... Sep.7th happens to be a very exciting day for many, many, many school kids around North America... I have a little one entering first grade and I will be otherwise consumed with walking her to school, meeting her new teacher, and ensuring that all goes smoothly on this lovely day...

Since Sep.7th also happens to be the day of the presale... I need to know whether tickets normally go on sale at venue box-office time (meaning the local time of the hosting city) OR whether tickets normally go on sale at the regular ticketmaster time of the city in which I live. The former allows me to get her to school safely before worrying about ticket purchase, the latter involves me making arrangements with someone else to be my "ticket-purchaser"....

I'm not asking for information that cannot be released until Sep.6th...
I'm simply asking what, in the past, has been the system... so I can plan accordingly...

With humble thanks,
E.

Our presale on September 7 to four concerts will - according to tentative information - begin at 10 am Pacific time, and it will be online only.

Now I have a question about this too...... excitement seems to scramble the thinking process here.

From Jarkko's comment, it looks as if ALL the presales will be at the same time. So if I want to buy tickets to two concerts, will I have to choose which one I try to buy tickets for first, meaning that I might get good tickets for one and not for the other (not that there are bad Leonard Cohen tickets, but you know what I mean!)

We don't have final details yet (am still waiting for them), but looks like all presales will run simultaneously, probably with three different links and also different passwords. Probably the very last concerts will be the most popular, so it may be best to start with them. At least some if not all presales will be operated by Ticketmaster, so make sure you are registered to the US Ticketmaster.

Talking of Ticketmaster- did anyone see this on AOL earlier this week?

"In a move as shocking as the New Kids On the Block reunion tour, Ticketmaster announced today that it will start showing the full cost of a ticket, including all venue and convenience fees, up front. The company will also begin offering three-day refunds on LiveNation concerts.

The move is a welcome change to the old model, which provided users solely with a ticket price that could grow by $5 to $20 more in fees by checkout. Now, when you go to Ticketmaster to buy a concert ticket users will see the total price of the ticket from the start.

Don't think that the changes are because Ticketmaster is feeling more charitable. As Nathan Hubbard, CEO of Ticketmaster, explains on his blog, customers are just plain fed up with the process -- and it's hurting ticket sales.

"All of the research we've done, and all of our conversations with fans like you tell us that the way we present these fees in the check out process is a huge frustration for you and hurts ticket sales. You just want to know UP FRONT in the buying process how much of your hard earned money you are being asked to pay for a given seat. If we are as transparent as possible with you sooner in the purchase process, you can make the decision about how much you want to pay to go to an event. The problem is that historically we haven't told you how much you have to pay for a given seat until very late in the buying process. And our data tells us this angers many of you to the point that you abandon your purchase once you see the total cost, and that you don't come back. The data also says (and this is the important piece) that if we had told you up front what the total cost was, you would have bought the ticket! So by perpetuating this antiquated fee presentation, fans are getting upset, while we and our clients are losing ticket sales."
Ticket buyers will still be able to see the actual ticket price when they select seats since the fees will be broken out. The only fee that they won't see from the start are per-order fees like shipping -- or the $2.50 per ticket fee to print tickets at home."

That Ticketmaster stuff sounds like it was published in the satirical newspaper "The Onion." Who can imagine Ticketmaster being truthful about anything?

I was wondering if anyone could provide me with details regarding the how the presales work?

Pardon my ignorance, but I am relatively new to this forum (although not new to Mr. Cohen and his work).

I was hoping to try to get tickets to one of the final concerts, but it occurs to me that I have to know how the presale works before September 7. Is there anything I need to have ready beforehand?

Thanks so much for your help.
