I visited my cousin in Cambodia the weekend LC was supposed to play and planned to go to the concert. Although it was a let down to see the concert canceled just weeks before my visit, my brief travels in Cambodia did not disappoint (and I still have need to make it to Angkor Wat). It's one of the poorest and most beautiful countries I have ever visited.
I'm a freelance photographer, and I took a lot of shots while I was there. You can see a set of my shots here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/pamhule/se ... 5394/show/ . More will be coming later, including a more complete photo essay.

BEAUTIFUL, Pamhule! Taking the lemons and making delicious lemonade. The ones of the children are amazing. I love the one of them with their fingers in the "shhhh" position and how their eyes gleam with joy when they're laughing and smiling. One sees G~d in every child. Love the view through the green grasses, too. They're gorgeous. Why don't you post this link in what used to be the Poetry by Forum members section, but now it's about the creations of Forum members.

Thanks all for your kind comments! Lizzytysh, I will post this in the "poetry place" forum as well. Jeff, I will make sure to check out your bar next time I'm in town. I'm thinking about going back to do a more extensive series of portraits from the countryside.
I've added some more pictures from my trip--this time a series of portraits of children. For a full screen slideshow visit this link: http://www.flickr.com/photos/pamhule/se ... 7852/show/ . I also posted a brief blog post on the series: http://blog.pamhule.com/2010/12/cambodian-faces.html

PS: Last year I was fortunate enough to shoot one of Leonard's concerts in New York. I don't recall if I shared them here but in case anyone's interested and haven't seen them, follow this link: http://www.flickr.com/photos/pamhule/se ... 548057762/

Jens,
These are all truly stunning. Even amidst poverty, you have captured so many joyful faces in addition to lovely backgrounds. My NYC favorite is your capture of the band onstage with the blue backdrop
Thank you.
Best regards,
Mary
