Judy Collins New Album covers Leonard Cohen Songs

Post by JRBAcct »

Just read in The Ottawa Citizen (where else) yesterday - August 22, 2004 - Judy Collins is releasing a new album within a month.

The new album covers 10 Leonard Cohen songs plus three new ones. The article did not say if the three new songs are penned by Mr. Cohen himself or songs written by Ms. Collins herself.

This may be the reason why Leonard has delayed the release of Dear Heather.

Collins and Cohen have known each other since NYC days in the 60s. Collins (as the article says) convinced Mr. Cohen to try his hand at transferring from the poet to the singer.

Ms. Collins was in Ottawa yesterday - August 22, 2004 - highlighting the Ottawa Folk Festival (where else). She played the new album.

Unfortunately, I was unable to attend as I read about the day of the performance.

Cheers to all.

See you in Berlin. Maybe Hydra too, who knows.

Currently on our local radio - Mr. Cohen's voice can be heard supporting the Canadian Cancer Society.

Still going strong at ~~ 70.

Can't get enough ....

Bye for now.
