I search for her on my shipwreck
I’m freezing on a broken deck
And as I write this log
I’m slowly drifting in the fog
My compass long since broken
I’ve lost direction
Without a sense of hope
I listen for a siren
And now I drift alone
A ghost upon the seven seas
in storms so harsh …they never ease
I searched for her on my shipwreck
I thought I saw her silhouette
but as I wrote my log
I slowly sank within the fog
My compass long since broken
I lost direction
Without a sense of hope
I listened for the siren
but now I drift alone
A ghost upon the seven seas
in storms so harsh …that never ease

hilarious! funniest post I have read on this forum for years!
I search for her on my shipwreck
I’m freezing on a broken deck
And as I write this log
I’m slowly drifting in the fog
My compass long since broken
I’ve lost direction
Without a sense of hope

And now I drift alone

what so frustrates me about this presumably true story is why he doesn't just jump on his log. What possible excuse can there be to "drift alone" when he has with him his personal piece of buoyant wood? It's irresponsible and thoughtless towards his wife and children, who have already suffered the loss of the family compass.
