I liked the words of I Wonder, but thought Mr Bazini's voice sounded a bit affected.
I had to look up to see that poem is from Spice Box of the Earth. Thanks for copying it - it is rather good. I like the way white, violet and green are mentioned in that first stanza; those colours seem to well represent different aspects of life.Cate wrote: ...one of my favourite L.C. poemsI almost went to bed
without remembering
the four white violets
I put in the button-hole
of your green sweater
and how i kissed you then
and you kissed me
shy as though I'd
never been your lover
I'm not sure which would be my favourite "romantic words" of LC's, but whenever a new thread crops up asking people for their best LC lines, I wonder why no-one ever mentions,
You will never see a man this naked
I will never hold a woman this close
from Humbled in Love. When I was young those lines intrigued me (the song itself is not a favourite though), and I wondered if I would ever see a man that naked, or be held that close. That was before I had even had a clue about what this or that might be.
