Re: Beautiful Losers
Anybody here who has got a copy of the book?´I would like to have the details for our Bibliography.
Is it one of the editions featured here, or a new one:
www.leonardcohenfiles.com/lcbook5g.html ??
A scan of the cover would be appreciated if it's a new printing!!!

Mike I have looked at mojo online and looked at the January edition and can't see anything about the book being given away free, am I looking in the wrong place?

I guess it all started for me sometime around Christmas 1967 and now, goodness me, it's.........2018 and over fifty years later.
No one ever listens to me. I might as well be a Leonard Cohen record.

I picked mine up from Sainsburys supermarket - it's the same edition of MOJO - I'll scan the book cover but it has a rear view of LC descending some stairs - the back cover has MOJO on the bottom and says it's not for resale .....

Re: Beautiful Losers
Could someone please clarify if it's the January Mojo, with Fleetwood Mac on the cover, or the one currently available (the February Mojo) which has Gram Parsons on the cover. This is an odd move on Sainsbury's part...do they have to put it on the top shelf?

Thanks for clarifying Mike! I have the January Mojo with Fleetwood Mac on the cover, but when I mentioned Gram Parsons, I was thinking of the February Uncut.

Re: Beautiful Losers
Mike suggested to me that the Beautiful Losers book might be a Sainsbury exclusive after I failed to locate a copy in a local town centre or Asda supermarket. I think this may well be the case. I made a special trip to find a Sainsbury store this afternoon. The store was in a pretty unlikely location for a Leonard Cohen book but they had several copies on the shelf. The "regular" Mojo edition, with the Marr and Friends CD attached to it, is in a special plastic wrapped pack with the book tucked in behind the magazine. The red banner at the top of the pack reads "The Ultimate Music Pack: Mojo + Free CD + Leonard Cohen Book!" and there is a thumbnail of the BL cover to the right.
Thanks to Mike for alerting us to the special edition in the first place and for helping me to locate a copy.

Our local Tesco has it in stock.
Re: Beautiful Losers
Interesting. I didn't see it in Tesco last week so I assumed they didn't have it. Distribution is obviously patchy for whatever reason.leonardthecat wrote:Our local Tesco has it in stock.

Re: Beautiful Losers
I finally tracked down one of the last two copies at Sainsbury's in Hampstead Road today. God knows why I need it!...I've already got three or four different copies, and I've read it twice. Anyway, the free johnny Marr CD looks interesting (and includes Sandie Shaw's "Hand in Glove").
