Re: VIP packages - comments
No one is scamming you. Learn about the difference packages before you buy. Don't pay more than you want to. No one is forcing you to buy VIP packages. And some of the best seats I had at a Cohen concert were far from the front. They were comfortable and had leg room!

Hi cohenadmirer ~
Yes, it seems the way they're doing it now is to sprinkle/scatter in some good seats at the $250 price. For New York, I finally gave in and went with the VIP [and still wasn't too sure about how that was going
] after a woman friend and I were on the phone, each prepared to enter my purchasing information, and both of us kept getting Row PP, after MULTIPLE attempts by both of us specifying $250 Best Available. It was just too far back for that kind of money.
Since I'd never done a VIP before, I decided that for New York, I'd just go for it.

Lizzy - sorry to hear that you got ripped-off, but glad you managed to get a decent seat.
Ilion - These are seats for a Leonard concert, not seats on a private plane!
Cohenadmirer - you summed it up perfectly in seven words when you said "a money making scam - pure and simple". Not only does it affect people who can't afford $500+, it means that people who can afford it, and are able to travel and go to multiple concerts, have to pay extra or contend with the hassle of buying and selling artwork etc. as part of the process. I have heard through the grapevine that Leonard does look at the Forum periodically, so hopefully he does have some idea of what's going on.
Meanwhile, If people just want to feel "very important" then stick them up in a box somewhere out of the way, like they do for the Queen!

And perhaps it is now a good time to remember what you mentioned earlier, John, the jokey but wise words of our own John Lennon:John Etherington wrote:Lizzy - sorry to hear that you got ripped-off, but glad you managed to get a decent seat.

“For those of you in the cheap seats I'd like ya to clap your hands to this one; the rest of you can just rattle your jewellery!”
I guess it all started for me sometime around Christmas 1967 and now, goodness me, it's.........2018 and over fifty years later.
No one ever listens to me. I might as well be a Leonard Cohen record.

Ladies and gentelmen, I think your voice has been heard. As I noticed during Oakland presale 'fan club' option produced good seats (I got row L) while at the same time VIP packages came up with seats in same area. Which means 'fan club' buyers were free to buy tickets only or comparable tickets plus additional goodies in a VIP package.

We received the same very good allocation of tickets that we did in 2012. Radio City was a different situation because it was not Will Call, per recent changes in the law. I posted an article that talked about how the elimination of Will Call was supposed to make sales more consumer-friendly. However, the backers of the law have some interesting pedigree.mirka wrote:
