I'm very sorry to hear that Ray Manzarek of the Doors has died of cancer, aged 74.

Saddened to hear that, John. The Doors must now have finally closed for good (in that Ray was an essential ingredient of any post-Jim reformation). Having said that, I guess that, given his sunny demeanour, Ray would have wanted us to celebrate nonetheless.

When the news came out about Mr. Manzarek, Al Yankovic posted this video of Ray laying down the keyboard part for Al's song Craigslist in 2009. Maybe the last chance to watch the master at work in the studio?
