My pleasure Jim :D

If you haven't already done so, use the YouTube filters at the top of the page and click on 'long 20 mins' under Duration, you will be pleasantly surprised what you will find! Keep a watch out and maybe it will appear as a visual concert and then you could get your ultimate wish of a DVD from it.
Or hopefully someone already has a DVD and can help you straight away. Good luck!

Bev

Was at Bruce at Kilkenny last night.
Most of those there LOVED him. Obviously.

Just reminded me of all the reasons why I love Leonard... :D
"There ain't no cure for love..."

(for instance, it was just too LOUD . I love how in the LC concerts you can hear each instrument and LC's every word)

Bruce in Cardiff last week was outstanding (with Eric Burdon as a special guest). The stadium roof was closed, which was great for the acoustics. I have become far too lazy to write reviews, but two quiet moments in a gloriously energetic set stick in my mind:

He recounted the story of coveting what was to be his first guitar when he saw it in a store window. He worked painting his neighbour's house, "in 95 degree heat", to earn the money (twenty dollars?). When he bought it he couldn't tune or play it, just looked at it in his room because it made him happy. It had an imaginary sign on it saying "maybe!". His fingers bled trying to play it. He said next July will be the 50th anniversary of his purchase of that guitar. Said he had learnt during those 50 years that he can't do his job by himself.“We Need You! We need you to make sense of all this shit! So what I wanna know is...can you feel the spiriiit?!!” Cue Spirit in the Night, during which he launched himself into the audience, as he did time and again throughout the gig.

And during the intro to My City of Ruins:"Are we missing anybody tonight?" The band and audience were invited to "shhhhhhh" for several minutes as Bruce stood in the spotlight with his eyes closed, outstretched arm around an imaginary missing person(s) (no doubt whom one of them was), his voice thick with heartbreak. He expresses grief - in his lyrics and in person - as eloquently as he does joy and exuberance.

Big thanks to Margaret for enduring the long haul with me to get into the pit:-)

Thanks Diane for the 2 moments with us. I was in Kilkenny Sunday night (pit of course!) and we had a couple of special moments too. First when he dedicated Born To Run album to Jimmy Iovine who was in attendance. 2nd was when he thanked the fans and gave us an E Street style introduction the ending being "Boss loving, E Street fans" and including phrases Burger, eating, Queue Making or that could have been Taking. Finally when he was taking sign requests on the screens we saw a kid on his Dad's shoulders holding a sign saying "Can I play guitar with you". Bruce didn't do anything then but nearing the end of the night he brought the kid on stage and had him strumming the guitar and then he gave him the guitar. It was a wonderful moment and the crowd went wild cheering in delight for the kid :D

Glad you enjoyed it, Gwen. Tastes differ of course, but I hate this kind of populist stuff- some talent-less kid being rewarded just because his pushy parent pushed him forward! (no doubt pushy parent prepared the banner, and his family will dine off this for years..."The night Bruce brought my son on stage...")

I do admire Bruce's energy and stamina (even LC's concerts are getting shorter these days, but then he is a little older ! )
Was glad I went - for an hour of Imelda May! Now there's real talent...
