Paul Simon and Sting
Paul Simon and Sting
I saw them last night at the Forum. Wonderful. They put together a band from both of their touring bands (Sting joked that they had more people onstage than the LA Phil) and it was splendid. It was well-apportioned among duets and solo sets by each man (a couple of sets each). Their voices blended well. I do think that Paul Simon's singing is best suited for delivering lyrics so that you can hear every word (you could hear every word Sting sang when he was in ballad mode, but when the power level went up, the edges of his diction kind of fuzzed). But Sting undeniably brought the pipes for "Bridge Over Troubled Water." If you've never heard Paul Simon live, remedy that. He's a consummate bandleader, and the richness and complexity of musical textures his band produces is not to be missed.

Re: Paul Simon and Sting
Thanks for letting us know what it was like. Having seen both of them previously I'd be there in an instant if this came to Ireland.
