Marty Stuart was one of Johnny Cash' closest friends. A one time son-in-law, band member and neighbor during JCs final days he later bought the property and kept it the way JC wanted it. He spent some time with Lakota people and made a great album called Badlands. I met him one time at a wildflower festival in Texas in the early 90s where he was performing. I dont what I would be doing at a flower festival but remember talking to him at the steps of the makeshift stage and being surprised he was such a short cowboy.

I really enjoyed those songs Kush, never heard of Marty Stuart before. I am put in mind of some lines by Robert Bly I saw recently:

Glad you liked them Diane. It is a way of life that is gone now. Replaced by parking lots and gas stations, McDonalds and shopping malls. Shopping malls that are filled with things like CDs and blu-ray discs and high-def TVs. All of the things that I cannot do without. 
But if you visit some of our national parks (Yellowstone, Shoshone, Grand Teton etc ) you might catch a little glimpse of the spirit of the old ways, of Indian trails. Someone said that the establishment of the US National Parks might turn out to be America's greatest invention yet. Possibly it was filmmaker Ken Burns or maybe he was quoting someone else.
