I've been listening to some old Tindersticks records this week. Has anyone ever noticed a similarity between the verses of the Tindersticks' song Tiny Tears and the "thank you for those items you sent me, the monkey and the plywood violin" segment of First We Take Manhattan? It only struck me for the first time when listening to the song this week and I've been listening to both songs now for the best part of thirty years.

I'm not suggesting any direct link or plagiarism. I just found there to be sufficient "congruity" between the songs lines that listening to one brought to mind the other.

tindersticks announce new album - ‘the waiting room’ and ‘the waiting room’ film project" - a collaboration with the clermont-ferrand international short film festival and La Blogothèque.
See and listen to the premiere track 'We are dreamers!' featuring vocals by Jehnny Beth of Savages here, with the short film by Brazilian director Gabriel Sanna.
‘the waiting room' breathes gravity and features guest appearances by Jehnny Beth of Savages and a particularly poignant duet with dear lost friend of Stuart Staples, Lhasa De Sela. Its brass arrangements are by the great Julian Siegel and it comes dressed in a sleeve by legendary french photographer Richard Dumas.
Not only an album, an ambitious collaborative film project also - each track is accompanied by a short film, a visual interpretation by it's own director, featuring Christoph Girardet, Pierre Vinour, Claire Denis, Rosie Pedlow and Joe King, Gregorio Graziosi, Richard Dumas and Gabriel Sanna.
