My Messiah

In the song, Happens to the Heart, Leonard wrote this line: "It failed my little fire".
It makes me sad that Leonard would think such a thing, so I wrote this response to that line:

My Messiah

I shall call you my messiah
It did not fail, your holy fire

Your flame, it resurrected me
and saved me from the dark decree
and not just me, but many worlds
were raised up to Infinity

And not just me, but many worlds
were risen by your sound
and not just risen, sanctified
and to your heartbeat bound

I call you my messiah
Embrace me in your fire
I call you my messiah
Consume me in your fire

You came to us, the fallen
all trodden on the ground
You held us and you lay with us
Our tortured sparks you found

Your flame lit up the darkened caves
The sparks they rose and flew
You carried us upon your song
to the place we never knew

We wish you well, we wish you peace
We know the veil is thin
We smell the embers from this side
Your flame still draws us in

I call you my messiah
Embrace me in your fire
I love you my messiah
Consume me in your fire
