Mara,

Oh, sorry to hear that. Well, there's lots more to choose from. Only 46 characters? Might be tough.

Time for a little confession. Before I joined this asylum we call the forum, I was looking around for an avatar and...I saw the one you have. I almost picked that, but decided, as I was new, I didn't want to be hasty. So, I put my country's flag up, and went into a political thread and got into a big fight instead. And that is the story of me and your avatar. I'm still hoping to find something unique - but most are too large. Good luck with your LC line. I bet ya find one.

"Take this longing from my tongue"
or
"you know that you can trust him/her"(depending on who you trust most...)
or, simply
"A Thousand Kisses Deep"

Linda, I have the same problems with Avatars, i found a really cool one of Orson Welles from the third man but it was too bloody big.

Hi Ghoti,

'Take this longing from my tongue' is perfect! I like 1,000 kisses as well. But I think the former would be on my iPod. Take this longing looks too long...although I'm sure you're right.

As for avatars, well, I've looked at 100's and I find that a lot of the good ones are already here. As for Orson Welles, well, ahem, the puns could just come rolling out, couldn't they? Yes, they're mostly too large. But, you should get one before people get to know you too well. Otherwise, it becomes even more difficult as people have a mental image of you after a while and the wrong avatar could be...well...wrong.

Still the search goes on. Good luck to you, as well.

I've decided to just go with a stylized letter 'L' - simple, and it is me (the letter 'L', not simple - although some might disagree :D ) Maybe, further on down the road, I'll find something 'perfect', but as it is, there's just too many images to look at - and so little patience. I like the idea of an avatar though. I know that for the people who have put theirs up since I've been here, it's made it a lot easier to find their posts. Not that anyone is going to look for my posts, but I'd like some sort of 'symbol' under my name.

I think "Take this longing..." is great! I hope Mara lets us in on what she's decided to do.

BFN,
Linda.

I say forget about the tongue, and just leave it at "Take this longing . . . " ~ if you're going with that one at all.

thanks people, I'll let you know what I choose, but I haven't decided yet
as for the avater, can't you just save it on your pc and then make it smaller with some photo program? That's what I did with mine, anyway

Yes, I suppose a person could, if one knew how...? Perhaps I don't have the right photo programs or perhaps I don't know how to use 'em. Easier for me to just find the image and post it.

As for yours, I could have sworn I almost picked one that looked like that. Perpahs it was too large and that's why I rejected it. Or, it was one that looked similar.

"Love's the only engine of survival?" - I'm sure you've come across that one. But, good luck in your quest, anyway.

Is that one blue eye that your avatar has? Is the other one green?

Noooooooooo. I'm like you......too many choices, too little time. I haven't even found the patience to look through them, though I love it when someone comes in with one. It is always easier to find their postings, too.

When I look at it on my computer, it has a bluish tint, unlike that of the other tones in the photo.
