I'm looking foward to it, Ali. The power of the internet, huh? to be able to locate people who share an interest and meet up with a whole bunch of them. And the power of Jarkko of course!

I am a bit concerned about John's habit of drinking pints of red needle, though . We have a long way to carry him home.

( Also, does anybody own a robust sack truck, so Diane can get John The Shorts home when he has had several pints of Red Needle and Toilet Duck )

(If we cannot find one, Asda is just over the road - dont worry Diane, we can push him in one of their shopping trolleys)

I question to myself "Should we be inviting a Paramedic to attend just in case of emergencies " - perhaps St John's Ambulance would come

Why is there such doubt about my drinking proficiency?

And If Diane is offering to carry you home, make the most of it and you can drink two or three tiimes your usual amount

Well, John, even you must have your limitations ? Ali, I have visions of pushing John across the Severn Crossing in a shopping trolley, weaving merrily between the traffic. Can one be charged with being drunk in charge of a shopping trolley ?

Oh, Ali, don't lower the tone of our thread . I mean, intelligent, erudite people are coming to Bristol (at least one or two spring to mind) and they might consider all this to be puerile nonsense . They might not want to come after all. (Panic )

I know, it's way too late to change things now, just look at all these pages of puerile nonsense we have produced. It's way, way too late. Oh me oh my.

Sigh .

OK, then: We will restrict John's intake to ten pints of red needle, so that last meeting's escapade, alluded to above in your post, is not repeated .

(Hi Ali, I had a minor panic earlier, as I thought my above post might not have read as I intended (i.e tongue in cheek), and that you might have thought I was being mean to you. This is the first chance I've had to get back to a computer to quickly write this. If you read it that way - apologies.)

Well, that's OK, then, phew. I wrote so many posts messages and emails all at once yesterday morning, without having time to re-read before I sent them, and then had a bit of a panic when I re-read that one just before I went out . That'll teach me. (Doubt it.)

Dammit, this sounds like a fun meet-up - but it would cost like 650 pounds to get there together with the hotel costs. So either you move the meet-up to Denmark or find a teleporter we can borrow for a single night. We will try not to be sick in the teleporter, so it will hardly show we used it
