Can anybody suggest a good source of Len bootlegs?
I'm in the UK, and would also be interested in MP3s.

Hi Greenfeld
I have discovered bootlegs at CD/Record fairs. These fairs are advertised in great detail in the 'Record collector' magazine.
Some fairs have 100's of stalls (I don't know where you live but the NEC at Birmingham has a massive fair every few months but expensive to park and to get in). There are many fairs that are on a much smaller scale but equally enticing. Flicking through old LPs brings back many memories and helps you realise how valuable some vinyl collections can be...if you're old enough to have a vinyl collection that is
There is usually a 50/50 split between cd stalls and vinyl stalls. Some stalls have books etc. I bought a copy of the Love and Hate song book once at a record fair. I already had my own but I rescued it for a fellow cohenite.
Sometimes there are none to be seen but this makes the hunt even more exciting and the discovery even more so. I always find something I'm looking for from other artistes so it is not always a wasted journey.
It is more fun than looking through the CD racks at HMV etc.
Hope this helps you in your quest

LM...
Well, somebody who shall remain nameless (init. LM) has been a GODDESS by providing me with FOUR full concerts, and I'm delighted.
bootleg concerts
I am also interested in purchasing leonard cohen concerts. There are no record fairs here. If you find any good sources, please let me know at

Re: bootleg concerts
hehe.. even if there were record fairs there who sold bootlegs...ssimandl wrote: There are no record fairs here.
it'd be illegal..
owning bootlegs is not illegal
sharing bootlegs aint illegal either
Selling bootlegs IS illegal
so.. i suggest people all try to remember how they felt when they got their first cohen bootleg

and then try to help you out..
i wish i could help you as well.. but hey, i can't send everybody cd's.. it'd cost me too much money.... i don't mind doing it though... heh.. but my wallet does

It is very satisfying to find a bootleg, even if the seller at a record fair is breaking the law by selling it!
It is more satisfying to 'rescue' the said bootleg for it to be 'shared' with other cohen fans and I am very grateful for those who have the facilities and the technology who have helped me out on that.

I, in all innocence while on a visit to Leicester bought a copy of "flowers from Heaven Blossoms from Hell " only to discover from this site that it is a bootleg
it is actually a very good cd and pleased I was to find it. However on a recent trip to Ireland I bought three tapes also bootlegs I fear which are appalling "Caveat Beware" it seems!!!
