On the album notes of Greatest Hits, Leonard writes that he had to cut the verses down to create the finished song.
So who knows what the "missing verses" of this song are?

I think they never appeared in the public. Leonard's last words about that song were those from Best Of, he never played song live, or anything.

Is there a reason why he never played it live?

I don't know. I never considered this song's issue - it's one of the greatest early LC's song, just as it is. Now I read that extract from Best Of, and it occured to me that he ruined his guitar in 1967! So, the song is very old.

Yes,it is an excellent song,not quite as good as Famous Blue Raincoat in my opinion,but pretty close.
