signed item of interest...

Post by LaurieAK »

over at Ebay there is an interesting poster signed by 100 Canadian writers. It includes Leonard's and Irving Layton's autographs. It is from an event from 1982. The seller describes the event in detail if you are interested:

That's a cool item. I'm sure they're going to get a good chunk of dough for that.

It sounded like a really neat event. I would have tried to "purchase" both Leonard and Irving for the dinner. But I really wasn't purchasing a whole lot in 1982. I was 6.

Yeah. It is kind of cool. $102.00 USD, and still counting? That's not so much really, in the whole scheme of things. It would make a great poster. Then what? Most people outside this forum are only vaguely aware of who Leonard is, let alone Irving Layton, et. al.

Hmmm. That sounds kinda grisly. Something Hannibal Lecter might say.

If there's no Berlin, I'd buy this. I could live without 100 dollars and with poster with 100 Canadian authors' signatures on my wall. Anyway I spent much more on stupid things (count all that drinks, coffes, chololates, ice creams, books... - it's MUCH MORE than 100 dollars in a month).

I feel that way as well. I've frittered away $100's on nothing. In the end, it would be such a treasure. I remember in the film I saw, when they were at the house on Hydra, they looked in the desk drawers, jokingly, to see if there were any old manuscripts in there. :)

And this item would amount to about the same thing. An old manuscript. Something one can treasure, look back on, and think, 'I remember when...' ha.

Linda.

Yes, Clarice. Poets being out the serial killer in me.
