MAPAAS?

Post by KjeXXXer »

WARNING! WARNING!

The following text is not for the faint, as some imagery moves into quite controversial territories.

However, my band mate and I were both very pleased with the way it turned out.
It is a song lyric, for a song inspired by, and resembling necro Black Metal band Anaal Nathrakh from Birmingham, Uk.
We're talking agression taken way over the top and just a mad angry song.

We felt, my mate and I, that the song would require some really nihilistic and hatefilled lyrics, meant for a very rapid performance.
So, one fine saturday morning when I woke up on the wrong side of the bed, feeling really out of place and just angry at the world, I sat down and produced this. Comments, however shocked and appauled, are always welcome.

So with out further ado:

(I'm so very sorry for bringing this upon you)

M.A.P.A.A.S.

As I view my victims
Who are arrayed before my eyes
With whom I have shared these visions
Whom I have put to death
The disdain is never-ending
The contempt is fast, unchanging
I still have the omniscient urges
That spurred this event of celestial carnage

I am made of malice
I who cannot love
I am still set upon the task
Of killing you all away
You are all so sickening
And I have no love for anything anymore
You are puny and vile
I vomit upon your bodies
Your struggle is futile
I shall stifle your cries
There is no greater pain than the sorrow that is your life

I breathe naught but hate on this day
And thou art swallowed whole
For I have force beyond human form
Empowered by disdain am I
Thy cross is employed in penetration of thy child
Thy loved ones are all torn apart in flames
Thy elders art unearthed and vomited upon
Thy temples are buried in the earth

This is the dawn of the age of murder
This the time when the races die
This is when the flame of the others is extinguished
This is the time and the place of extinction
This vile land and the whole earth upon which it stands shall meet the unblessedness of being erased
Each and every living thing upon it shall face the fires of death and the gases of decay

I will be slayer of it all
I possess the rage that will consume the hordes of misery
I who am born from utter hate.
There! That wasn't so horrible was it?
Now you've got the gist of what my lettuce meant.

Oh, no, Axel... I took it in stride  .

What does "MAPAAS" mean? It, of course, looks like Ma and Pa together and then pluralized, but I suspect that's too simplistic.

Now, I know you don't want me to say I like it... do you? I do feel encouraged that you would choose to spend your 20th with your Mother and Grandmother :) .

M.A.P.A.A.S. is an acrynome for the full title. The title is not my creation, so at the present time I can't recall what the acrynome stands for. I thinks it's a description of the text, much like 'statement of hate,' if you follow.

Aparrantly my band mate didn't like me posting this on the Cohen message board. Lord knows why! :)

I'm sorry. This is too unoriginal to be shocking.

I still feel a kind of revulsion [call it 'shock' if you like] when I read lyrics like this, the 'same' as I do when I read about carnage like this that plays itself out in real life [my reaction much stronger then], because the one reflects the other. I wish both had been done to death... then, I wouldn't need to concern myself with either, anymore.

Thanks liz. Of course, my secret hope in my response to Axel was to hear your opinion of what I said. Of course. It is afterall, what everyone around here wants...and are rarely disappointed.

I see you're in a lovely mood today, Laurie. Have a nice rest of today. Yes, I expressed my opinion, which differed from yours. And?

Of course. Usually it's best to avoid it, and to take a different approach. But when you're fed up with the toll of every day life, it's sooo cathartic!

Well, actually, I'm not really bothered at the fact that you did it. Just that you made it sound like an accident :P

Also, WHAT HAPPENED TO THE SECRECY??????

I jest however.

I guess I should explain the title. "MAPAAS" stands for "Misanthropic And Pandemonic Annihilation And Slaughter" (Grim, eh?)

I am aware that "And" doesn't usually merit an initial, but I felt that it sounded better.

Don't worry, we're not really utter psychos. Just Anaal Nathrakh that are psychos.

Me & Axel appreciate all your criticism (Positive & Negative). It's very helpful.

And to the person who said it's been done to death. It HAS, this isn't about lyrically reinventing the wheel, there is no deep underlying concept. Basically, it's about when you just feel extremely pissed off & want to destroy everyone & everything.

P.S. Caught you by surprise eh, Axel? :P

Good Cohenites - I give you Forrest, my partner in crime. A divious man indeed. Although, he's not really a man, he's only about ten years old last time I checked. 8)

Btw, I've been getting him into Cohen, and he loves Famous Blue Raincoat, so I reckon he's a fellow fan! :D

Ah I just saw this! Well I guess perhaps a linguistic/artistic approach to the critique would be appreciated. :?

Hi Axel ~

I really have no knowledge at all of these type songs. For me, the visuals of it are too close in memory to the Virginia Tech massacre; and more recently in Finland, the murders of 10 children; and before that, the Amish children. So, really, whatever linguistic/artistic critiqueing that might be done, I wouldn't be the one. As with the poems here, I don't really give that type, anyway, but rather what I like/don't like and why. I've already expressed myself on yours and Thorrest's. It's very blatant and I wouldn't want to listen to it sung. Personal taste. I guess, linguistically speaking, I guess I could say that it's 'somehow' :? to your credit that you created such a disgusting scene without using a single word of profanity. Is that the kind of thing you're looking for? [I'd rather hear that you got up in a bad mood, and went and played a hard game of racquetball. But that's me with my wishes for your life.]

It caused me to think of a comment I heard made on the radio over the weekend, regarding some upcoming segment on murder. I didn't get to hear the segment, but from the context of what she was saying, she was referring to computer games involving murder. The snippet was of a woman, who would be included in the program, saying, "It's 'only a game' if you've never had a murder happen."
