First of all, I just want to post my most sincere thank- you note to Mr. Cohen, Jarkko, Mr. Sanders and to all those I don't know by name who have had the generous idea to offer some tickets for fans via this site.
For many years I've been feeling as a freaky listening to a music noone but me liked. I've gradually convinced my husband to it and my kids are now LC fans as well. I've never been to any LC concert before. First, I was too small, then I emancipated and during my University years I was just too poor to go somewhere in the world for a concert, and then, you know, "normal life", work, work, work, husband, kids.. I just can't leave it all and go... kids are too small, no holidays at work except for a month of August... etc...
However, this time is different: As a Xmas gift (Spanish tradition is to give presents on the day of Epiphany) I received a newspaper scrap saying Leonard's touring again and a solemn promise of the Three Holy Kings I won't miss this one. I won't. Since then I'm trying to check this forum everyday and it feels great to see so many of you feel the same way I do, awaiting the 11M - oment impatiently.
I've read carefully all the posts from this thread and I understand those of you that feel dissapointed. I know life's not fair but still, I hope earlier or later all of us who REALLY want to see Leonard live fullfil our dream. It is a wonderful gift that we're receiving now. Sincerely I wish you ALL get the tickets on March 11 and breathe deeply afterwards.
Till then, take good care and keep training your fingers to use the keyboard and the mouse quicker than usual!
love, magda

Uh, hi there

.
I feel a little bad, having just registered here. It makes it so obvious what the reason was

.
However, I think it's a great idea from whoever had this idea to make the forum members and general fans of Mr Cohen be able to sit together in the concerts.
Okay, that was really random.
Hope to see some of you guys at the German concert (if such thing will exist). Fate was really cruel when you guys had the meet-up in Berlin - I was on Hawaii during that time and I had really planned to come.
Since I'm about the only one of my age who even
knows who Leonard is, let alone like his works, I'll travel any road to the concert hall alone

. This is why I'd be looking forward to see some of you guys around

.
Many greetings from a frosty South of Germany!
Anja

I see that many people from Europe are hoping to see their city on the venues list. I just want to bring two facts to your attention, probably lost in many pages of the original TOUR 2008 thread:
1. 2008 European Summer tour is open-air Summer festivals only. So you could now what to expect. Is there Summer festival in your city, your country, or nearby?
2. Jarkko informed the Forum that - if Summer tour goes well - Leonard may return for real, indoors, music halls tour in Winter. So, only then we can expect to see our cities on the list.
I can say, knowing these two facts, my situation (from Croatia):
(1) Probably, I will not see Leonard's this Summer as there's no Summer festival nearby (Zagreb's VIP INMUSIC, and Serbia's EXIT NOVI SAD, announced their headliners - Nick Cave, - no Leonard, so far, and anyhow both festivals are in June, too early. Maybe Hungary's SZIGET FESTIVAL in August?). There's a slight possibility that I could travel to Poland is he will be there. Anyhow, I do not want to see Leonard between Kate Moss's ex-boyfriend and Roisin Murphy, under the sun, for 45 minutes only, paying 100 Euros to get the ticket for festival only. (2) I am hoping to see Leonard in my town or any other in my reach (Ljubljana, Munich, Vienna, Milano) in Winter 2008/09, on "real" tour.
So, there's no need for fussing and screaming the names of the cities. Anyhow, everything written is just fussing around, until March 11, when we will know.

Hello Tom, once again you're the voice of reason in the forum.
Whatever happens, I hope we can meet up again this year and have a few late nights in the Erofili court yard.

We will, Byron, we will

But I am not sure about June, there's a big possibilty I'll be in Poland then, for two weeks. Krakow & Warszawa.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Just one more notion - if someone's NEWLY REGISTERED membership doesn't work. Of those
900 new members in last two days, about 100 was inactivated. (That means no posts so far.) I have sent the reminder to those. Also - there's a possibility that your membership is erased as I removed 5 members.
One person (real) has TWO accounts, from same IP, with different email adresses, in Canada (oy man, one will not work - the second - anyhow, you have to give your real name for the ticket/password, and can buy only one, so that will not work).
Other which I erased were obviously non-existing Yahoo accounts. The ID for Forum and the Yahoo mails were the same, i.e. "cavabcbu".
One was having the commercial mail (office at something).
All others are having, it seems, genuine adresses (name and surname, the real local domain). I see many people from France, Croatia, Serbia, Hungary... so, welcome everybody
----------------------------------------------
I wish only add one thing, about the Summer festivals (everybody knows I didn't like the idea about Leonard on festivals): I like summer festivals. I'd like to see Leonard in the national music hall, travel even to London to see him in RAH with Byron and rest f the Cohenite bunch, and drink in the pub after that, but in the Summer ... yeah, I'd like to see Roisin Murphy on that Spanish beach. Don't get my "I do not want to see Leonard between Kate Moss's ex-boyfriend and Roisin Murphy" wrong. She's mucho-sexy.

[Roisin. But you can like Kate also

]
And Leonard and me? Well, I'll see him - if G-d wants so - next winter, sitting in the national hall, with my eyes closed. Leonard's probably will be also.

I only joined yesterday although lurked for a couple of years on and off, and I too a little embarrased that the reason is so so obvious, but without this forum I would have missed Leonard at the Barbican so a big thank you for that. I hope there's more than Glastonbury planned for UK summer or winter otherwise I and many more are going to be disappointed/thwarted as tickets are hard to come by, I've been like a 6 year old waiting for Xmas, roll on 11th March, and thank you once again.

Oh my! I've only just found this thread. What a nice offer for LC to make.
You know, in the past when I have bought tickets on line here in Australia(Loved Sting, loved Santana) all I ever needed to focus on was getting the best seats I could afford.
Now, I'll be furiously reading this thread and cross checking an atlas to figure out where the hell is that?? This is turning into a real adventure for me.
Right now all I know is I'm "hopefully" going to be somewhere in Europe at some point this year, with my husband enjoying Leonard and I've got to achieve this without taking out a second morgage on the house and without upsetting either of our employers.
Like I said, it is an adventure

I've only recently joined the forum...... but have been a Leonard Cohen fan since I was 20 (I'm 60 this year).
It was my Mum that got me interested in Len. We saw him at the Albert Hall and he was absolutely wonderful.
This year I hope to see him (with my husband, brother, nephew and sister!)
Can't wait to hear where he will be performing in UK.
