I submitted my contribution on August 1st, but my PayPal account is showing it as "unclaimed". Wondering if I should cancel and resubmit?
Thanks, Joy

Thank you very much, Jarkko. I have walked that path and rested there. A fine place with a beautiful view.

I have watched the video of members being on Hydra 2013. You seemed to have had a lot of fun, and there were a lot of nice people. But I only saw "sunshine" photos. On Hydra the weather changes often and quickly. So you were lucky.
Did you have a meal at Kodylenia's taverna? It's more expensive than others, but they have the best food.
The first time I was on Hydra was in 1978. It was almost mystic, time seemed to have stood still. No public accomodations for tourists only 2 decent tavernas, not one tourist shop. Sometimes visitors came by boat from Athens, Tolon or Nauplia just for half a day. I or later my husband and I had always found a room in the house of a family who needed the money. It was easy because we both spoke Greek. Nowadays I see Hydra with different eyes, they live from tourism, offering apartments and hotels, a lot of restaurants and shops. There are lot of boats you can rent. I wonder if LC feels the same about the changing of the island from the 70s until today. I have spoken with inhabitants, on the one hand they are better off than in former times because of more tourism, but on the other hand they are very nostalgic about their former Hydra they had to themselves, especially those who do not much profit from the changes. But infrastructure on Hydra has at least improved !

Today, I opened a PayPal account and contributed my share.
So happy that I (finally) became aware of the Hydra Bench Project! What a wonderful way to honour Our Man
I hope to come to Hydra some day and see all the beauty.
All good things

Ahhh, I'm not too late. I was quietly following the plans for the bench, then was caught in the tailspin of having a beautiful little baby, and 'phew! just made it back in time.
I'm going to use Paypal and hope I don't mess it up. Jarkko, as ever, thank you and very best wishes to you and your friends making this wonderful gesture a reality.
Hope I get to take my family there one day...would be wonderful! xxx
