I don't care if it's LC or any other concert or play - just in general, I hate annoying people who can't just sit there and enjoy the perfomance.

Same here. I would just like to go to a concert and hear the performer. I can listen to total dickheads any day of the week on the streets and buses.

You are correct Jondi your post did come across as rather teenage. I mean a fully grown adult should not have the mentality of not giving a fuck about those around them. That is more your 13 to 20 age group.

Jondi,

Would you be interested in trading your LC tickets for Avril Lavigne?

I have never been annoyed by others behaviour at a gig and I've been to many, perhaps I ought to become less tolerant? As for Avril Lavigne, no thanks but it made me smile.

I am generally very tolerant of people who whoop and whistle, but there are 2 things I can't stand at gigs. The first is when somebody continually shouts a song they want to hear while the performer is singing and thereby ruining someone else's favourite song, and the other is flash photography, that is not because it is just annoying that people have been asked not to use it and then do, but the strobe lighting affect from flash photography makes me sick and dizzy, and I have to sit with my head down for the next few minutes. .

I saw Leonard perform last night in Toronto, and let me tell you, it was very clear that he relished the audience's enthusiastic response. As an audience member, I loved the energy of the crowd - you could feel the excitement in the air and that just added to the splendour of the show.

I've waited 20 years to see Leonard perform live, and I'll be damned if I'm going to sit with my hands folded quietly in my lap while I watch him.

Clap, shout, whoop and whistle BETWEEN songs to show your appreciation but NOT DURING a song. This is very annoying.

Jondi,

"Doing what feels right" with disregard to others makes me wonder if you do not think your are a god. You "having loved this man for 30 years" affords you no more privileges than anyone other paying member of the audience. I can not imagine that "f**king the wants of others" would impress LC to reciprocate that love.

from the article:
"...Next time you go to a show featuring someone truly great, try this: Sit your ass in your chair and just listen. Be. Enjoy. I know this may be difficult for you to understand, but it will all still have happened even if you don't obsessively photograph it. And if you don't leave with 100 grainy pictures of an old man wearing a hat, your evening – and not unimportanTly, mine – will have been better for it. "

Totally agree!
