I would definitely pull out all the stops and go - Edinburgh Castle is a magnificent venue! I'm gutted that it's my family holiday that week (we live a few miles away) but thankful I made the solo trip to Manchester to see him on the Tuesday. I've seen Rod Stewart and Wet Wet Wet at the Castle and both were great - a friend saw Tom Jones which also had a fantastic atmosphere like my two concerts. I would agree that Edinburgh will be a completely different experience to Manchester and more like Dublin - I would have hated a singalong at Manchester but would probably join in (discreetly!) at Edinburgh!!
On the baby front I personally wouldn't take him/her - my two were hit and miss
and might have bawled the place down at that age and I would have found it very stressful just anticipating it!! Of course every child is different.....
