and any word on the next batch of digi remasters?
The project is on hold, and we cannot expect to get the next batch in the near future.

Every fall concert is filmed in high definition for the archives.

Is there any particular reason for choosing one of the least inspiring venues of the whole tour?

Whatever about the venue, let me reassure you that there was nothing uninspiring about the concert. I was there and it was absolutely superb - very inspiring actually!

The DVD has to be an optimal if not perfect combination of many factors. I guess the venue itself is one of the less important things (there are only some short moments when the audience is shown!). The performance itself, video quality, sound quality, lightning, camera angles & framing, director's cut... all those have to match!

I find this news a little worrying ....if LC is intending to tour the US (which of course we don't know), wouldn't it be a bit odd to release a DVD of a very current concert BEFORE he has finished a full world tour? So basically if you are in the USA, you could see a recent concert on DVD before you see him live (assuming he tours here).

No need to worry... the DVD will be a superb appetizer also for the few US concerts (those are still not confirmed), and probably a best-seller also at the merchandise counter of any concert. Majority of concerts of the whole tour have been/will be in Europe (that's Leonard's strongest target area anyway!), and the DVD is really something that is urgently needed for this market. (My friends who own the biggest specialist record shop in Finland have informed me that their customers keep on asking for any DVD material of L's tour, and I've received similar reports also from other countries).

Hmmmm....."the FEW US concerts". Hopefully, if there are indeed just a few concerts, Leonard's loyal fans on this forum might get a little advance notice on the venues. Please, please.....

We are ready to announce the US/Western Canadian concerts as soon they are confirmed - IF the 4th leg is going to happen! We also try to get a quota of good tickets for our members only, just like we had for all UK gigs, thanks to AEG Live in London.

Jarkko - thanks re the subtitles aspect.
Those people making it might find it easier to understand if I could
send them a fuller text.
Is there a way I can do that ? An address etc ?
Thanks re news of 02 also. If it is indeed the whole gig then that saves me
having to film 1000 kisses deep for posterity in the next few days
Means we need to make sure someone does a good job on filming FBR and Partisan
instead...
[unless the dvd cud have such extras ?]
thanks for whatever you can add

I really think that a Leonard Cohen DVD needs subtitles in many languages, as his main market is mostly European. Not that his audience doesn't understand English (quite contrary, otherwise how they would listen to his music) - but that would be a nice gesture of recognition from his side.
Particularly all bonus stuff (interviews? extra talk from team members?) have to be subtitled.
Anyhow, there are many people around, on this Forum, which were included in multi-lingual websites like Ten New Songs and Dear Heather websites, from French to Greek, Croatian, Lithuanian, Slovenian, Bulgarian or Serbian etc., so Jarkko knows whom can they ask

I myself volunteer for the Croatian.
I can imagine a reaction from local fan somewhere in Europe - "Wow, he has subtitles in my language!"
Of course, hearing-impaired English subtitles are quite needed, it's at least they could make.

Great news about the 02 gig. The first time I have been at a concert released on DVD!
As to it being uninspiring? Well, for me that was one of the greatest concerts of my life - so full of joy and brilliance!
I also think that to conquer a venue as large and potentially unforgiving as the 02, made it even more special. And he was really full of passion that night too. I still have loads of images in my head from that night - so can't wait to revisit it.

Jarkko, whether it is possible that in 2009 Mr.Cohen yet come to Europe ?
