:D go go HolyDove!

HolyDove - do you remember the name of the bar?

Following him around France with a small band of fellow fans sounds fun, but I'd miss my kids.

Okay my dream concert would be a members only concert in Montreal at the Place de Arts - after we'd all come back (including the band and Mr Cohen) to the hotel for drinks, jokes, more music and some poetry recitals. We'd all have breakfast together in the morning.

My dream (literally, as I have actually dreamed this), is that he winds up the tour with a string of dates in Montreal, I attend the very last one. After the last standing ovation and the lights come one, we just keep applauding, singing and refuse to leave ... until he comes back again and recites poetry for us. Many tears are shed, needless to say,

In my dream Leonard would play a concert in Helsinki. In the set list there would be songs like "The Traitor", "Joan of Arc", "The Window", "Stories of The Streets", "The Stranger Song" and "Night Comes On". He would also perform couple of brand new songs. I would be in the first row with a huge sign with a witty slogan or message for him. Leonard would notice it and burst into his charming chuckle. His eyes would twinkle like gems and maybe he would miss a note what would turn his band also into laughter. In the end everybody, including the crowld, would slip their sides with laughter and Leonard would say "Thank you so much dear friends, I have never had so much fun".
After his numerous encores Leonard would invite me to a backstage, introduce me with the band and ask me to go dinner with them. The night would go on and in a censored version Leonard would sing me "Light As The Breeze" and ask me if I wanted to go with him to Mount Baldy after the world tour. ("Oh Leonard, of course I want!" ;-) )

Cate, thank you - glad you enjoyed! I love your part about having breakfast together - that's beautiful!

At the moment, I don't remember the name of the bar, but I think I read it in Ira Nadel's biography, & I will try to find it (I also want to know. . .)

Along with following him everywhere he goes, a concert in the little bar he used to frequent in Montreal (I'd love to see him in his hometown). The setlist (of the songs he hasn't been doing) would include: The Window, The Traitor, Joan of Arc, Master Song, Nancy, Teachers, Stories of the Street, Minute Prologue, Stranger Song, Light As A Breeze, Avalanche, One of Us Cannot Be Wrong, Diamonds in the Mine (oh, it is so hard to stop naming songs!); he would continue to do Anthem, Bird on a Wire, Chelsea Hotel, & The Miracle (AT LEAST those 4 cannot be omitted).

Then he would take me back to his house, or a room in his favorite Montreal hotel. We would drink tea & oranges, & Red Needles, and we would eat chocolate. He would let me stare into his beautiful, fathomless eyes, and he would let me touch his sweet lips; we would talk, and sing, and dance (slow dance, of course!). We would lay down together, and the rest is not fit to post, but the night would go on forever and ever. . .

My dream is indeed modest:

With Leonard, be--meeting before the concert (our hands and our bodies touch each other) and together make a picture. On the photo (it would be done soon), Leonard autograph now write with a dedication and allows me to look him in his beautiful eyes. Then sit in the seat in the VIP and the concert can begin. After the concert .... lalalala.

ps. holydove, I am not jealous of you. :D

LEONKA: I see your bodies touching, you sitting in the VIP section, and ESPECIALLY your "lalalala" (lol!), and I agree that you have no need to be jealous of anyone! "And it won't make me jealous if I hear. . ." that you stared into his eyes too. You are very funny, thanks for the laugh!

CATE: I did some research and there is mention of a few bars/clubs in Montreal that Leonard frequented in his twenties: there is Le Bistro Chez Lou Lou, where he wrote on the wall: Marita/ please find me/ I am almost 30. There is Dunn's Progressive Jazz Parlour (above Dunn's Steak House), where he allegedly gave his first professional poetry reading, with a 12-15 piece band playing in the background. Also, The Shrine, where he often went with his friend, Mort Rosengaarten (The Shrine was their nickname for Cafe Andre). He also spent time at Birdland (I think that was also with Mort). It doesn't say which was his very favorite. I think a concert at Chez Lou Lou (I wonder if that poem is still on the wall (?!) - wouldn't that be wonderful!), or at Dunn's Progressive Jazz Parlour, would be nice. But, of course, I would let Leonard choose the venue (isn't that generous of me!). . .

Leonka, you did not offend me at all. I knew you were joking; I was joking too!

Hope you enjoy your concert (I know you will!) I will be there with you in spirit.

Dunn's!!!
Dunn's on St. Catherine street - I've been there, a friend from here took me. It was good and I've been back there a couple of times since. I looked it up apparently Irving Layton read there as well!!!

Thanks for looking that Holydove.
