Beside Nokturno and Medvedgrad, two good place for eating downtown are also:

"Lady Sram" - old-fashioned, traditional Zagreb restaurant at the bottom of Mesnicka street, just near the corner of Mesnicka and Ilica. The spirit of old Zagreb.

Vallis aurea - pub in Tomiceva Street, near the cable railway, one of city's trade marks.

20 days until the show, very first on 2010 world tour!

So I am writing here to return this topic to the top. Many of these places, food and beer we tasted on our meet-up in mid-March, so Jarkko and others can confirm what was good:)

Beside above-mentioned Lady Sram, we actually had the best dinner at "Didov san" in Upper (Old) Town, check it at http://www.inyourpocket.com/croatia/zag ... san_35331v

The other excellent meal was in the restaurant "Pod grickim topom", located just under the Old Town's Tower and its cannon (hence the title, "under the old town's cannon"); from the restaurant you can see the city and downtown... Dalmatian (Mediterranean) cousine. http://www.inyourpocket.com/croatia/zag ... opom_3503v

Jarkko and Eija seemed to like City Hall Grand Cafe (Gradska kavana) very much: http://www.inyourpocket.com/croatia/zag ... san_35331v

As Ken noted in our thread about July 24 meet-up (viewtopic.php?f=44&t=22170), Zagreb's new Museum of Contemporary Art currently runs Gilbert & George exhibition "Jack Freak Pictures" > http://www.msu.hr/#/en/18741/
The exhibition entitled the JACK FREAK PICTURES is being presented in collaboration with the British Council. It has been conceived by GILBERT & GEORGE specially for the Museum of Contemporary Art Zagreb and it will be the first ever showing of their art in Croatia.
This is one of rare museums in Zagreb which is open on Saturdays and Sundays until 7pm. (Closed on Monday after the show.)
