hmmm....looks like South Pacific (the album) has shown up 3 times now. Came up for my November 1958 birthday...and i see 2 whole years later (Charles), it is still the One. Sort of the "Thriller" of its time? 8)

Piece of useless information: The Hollies only got 1 penny in royalties for each record they sold. That is 1 penny between them!!!! Paula, enjoy the concert.

That's dreadful. Hence, Jeffrey Lewis's song about the record companies taking you to lunch.

lizzytysh wrote: Linmag ~ "I Believe for every drop of rain that falls........a flower grows...." ~ phenomenal song. I've always loved it. Beautifully done by Frankie Laine.
I never heard the Frankie Laine one as far as I know, but it is the same one as The Batchelors did in the 60's. We had a far more prosaic version of it. "I believe for every drop of rain that falls..... someone gets wet." :)

I only know the Batchelors version of "I Believe" too. What ever happened to them.

Byron although I am going to see the Hollies I have no idea if there is anyone original in the line up. Graham Nash buggered off to Crosby Stills Nash and Young and Carl Wayne died. I think Tony Hicks is still hanging on in there. Thats the trouble with these old bands they keep popping their clogs

Best so far...
