A recording of the 4th Ghent show (17 August) is now available on Dime. Given the usual standard of the uploader's recordings I'd hazard a guess this will be a good one to have.

And this very first recording has been dedicated in memory of our dear friend Artur Jarosinski as the uploader says in the description:

"I believe this is the first of the 2012 'Old Ideas' tour shows to be posted on DIME, please let it be the first of many.
With the passing of Artur (banalny) in August 2011, the LC supply has virtually dried up. In his memory let's see if we can get it going
again. "

I have just downloaded Gent aug. 17th and Halden aug. 29th from Dime. Is it a good idea to set up a vine? Just let me know and will make some extra copies

Gent Aug 15 just went up there, and as we all hoped for, Tom Moore did tape Berlin show - it is the far best sounding recording yet. Unfortunately he had technical problems and there are no last encores, the show ends at Marianne. With that failed attempt and banalny's death, I don't know when and how will we get the proper hi-q recording... let's hope for somebody new doing some other show, or that TM will do Monchengladbach or something else.

And let's hope that tapers would be prepared for 3,5 hours long show - that means with battery recharge etc. between encores and in intermission.

Not a particularly helpful comment when we are trying to encourage people to put up the recordings they have got. Agreed, a lot of the Tom Moore recordings over the years have been very good, some of them have not been. Ditto banalny. It all depends on the night, the position, and the crowd around. If you say you only want 'hi-q' (or professional) quality, then we will end up with nothing.

The regular tapers do a great job and often they reach the parts others do not reach, but amongst the occasional tapers' recordings, every so often you get an absolute gem, and we want them encouraged, not put off by thinking they will never be as good as the likes of Tom Moore, who, as we already know, had an off-day in Berlin.

It is good that there are a several excellent and complete recordings of the Berlin show. Just hope we get to hear them.

ive also got Gent final night, and will put it to cd at the end of the month, when I return to the UK.
I was row 20 and the sound may not be as clear as night 4, when we were in row 6.
Hope to do Paris Olympia on saturday, the 29th.

We have a reminder from Jarkko that it is not okay to link to any torrents site directly (to avoid any legal problems with the label), so I removed Goldin's thread with direct dimeadozen links.

If any member does not know what dimeadozen, it is a torrent website (dimeadozen dot org) with private trackers, so you have to become a member and then just type "Leonard Cohen" into search field and you'll see all LC audience recordings. It is a specialised website for fan recordings.

Hi Tom,

If I can be of any help then don't hesitate to contact me. I am a member of Dime and I know how to upload recordings to dime. But I am not very good in converting raw files to a 'slick' recording. However, I do know a few LC fans who are able to work on those raw files. So I can contact them. Another option is to contact the other '2012' dime uploaders. They had to convert and upload their recordings as well. If you are interested, just PM me and we will work something out.

Not many Dublin shows up yet, so I will post this even though it is incomplete.
I had two sets of batteries die on me in the first set, followed by some brain malfunctioning as once I again I manage to screw up another LC recording. Oh well...at least most of the show was saved. I have left the missing track info in the tracklist.

I have a good , though not perfect ,recording of the whole of the first gent concert (12/8/12)
I'm, afraid i don't know how to use dime .


However i've been in correspondence with Cheshire gal ( based in the usa ).

She has suggested i start a vine . Again she had to educate me as to what a vine is ! ( i'm familiar with the term only in botanical terms )

As a result i will send the recording to her and if you interested please pm her
