Clearly you and I have a difference of opinion, and clearly your opinion is based on "research" of information cited in a mainstream media documentary which I haven't looked at nor am I inclined to do so.
Documentarians commonly cherry-pick their facts to create their preferred narratives, just as do adoptive parents.

I can't as of now find the news report I originally based my comments upon, but it said she'd been stripped of her honorary status BECAUSE (it's claimed) she'd supposedly lied about her race; and that she is, in fact, white, raised by white parents. The report said her name isn't really Buffy Sainte-Marie, it's in fact a generic white name (which I can't remember.) Her rebuttal was that she had been adopted & raised by white people. I believe her.

So I stand by my basic premise-- that being adopted by white people doesn't make a child white.

You say that my common-sense premise is idiotic.
I say yours-- based on "experts"-- just might be racist.

If BSM doesn't wanna get a DNA test, for whatever reason,
that's fine with me. Her F.U. response to the charges against her are absolutely her right. She doesn't owe *me* any proof that she's of indigenous heritage, and she doesn't owe it to you either. I can see & hear & believe her when she says she was born that way.

To be fair, Squidgy, I called your comment idiotic, not you, and the reason I said that is because one really cannot make definitive assertions about another person's ethnic background based merely on their appearance. Throughout my life, people have assumed that I was a variety of ethnicities, based on my appearance, and they were often incorrect. I should have refrained from the insult and simply explained why I thought your comment was misguided.

Incidentally, nobody said that being adopted by white people makes a child white -- that would be absurd!

Anyway, you, of course, are free to believe whatever you like, about BSM and anything else.
