as mr. t said, check out "hobosapiens." if you are a fan of brian wilson you will notice the stark rhythm and tempo changes cale uses in this collection of songs.

check out http://www.john-cale.com to hear his new single.

Hmm. First time I noticed. Santa Clarita. Twice.

Yes, I went to the link Margaret provided, however, this is a finicky old machine, and not much happened.

There are other Cale sites, which I'll check out later. If one person knew if he is indeed, JJ Cale, or not JJ Cale, with absolute certainty, I would probably get to bed at a decent hour. :D Now, it looks as though I'll be looking at Cale sites. The Velvet Underground days are too far back to get a feel for what he might be doing now. Still can't hear JJ Cale with the Velvet Underground, though. But, stranger things have happened. Once the details of something like this get under my skin, I can't rest until it's resolved.

Thanks all,
Linda.

well, i can ASSURE you that jj cale and john cale ARE INDEED TWO DIFFERENT PEOPLE. hahaha.

JOHN cale was a member of the velvet underground, JJ cale was not.

and yes, linda, santa clarita, two times. hahahaha.

as for mr. ghoti, if you could find out what song that was involving the suicides i'd be very interested to know.

I was finally able to plug into the new single and it is so NOT JJ Cale! I wonder whatever happened to JJ. Yes, I can hear John Cale emerging from the VU.

I'd be interested to know about those suicides myself. I saw nothing of that nature on the 'net. Also, he doesn't sound like a man with a following of 'young uns' ready to take their lives for his music!? R&R is so much fun!!

T -,

We've had a longish and good relationship so I feel that I can confide in you. I've noticed that all the emoticons are doing their thing properly (yours is laughing), however, my rolling eyes have stopped rolling. They are now transfixed, staring at some spot on the floor in front of me. I wonder? Does it see a spider? I hope this glitch works its way out soon.

I felt I had to say something as the issue surrounding Cale seems to have resolved itself. But, thanks for all the disc info.

linda, i find that if you hit one of the emoticon buttons while typing, y'know, to insert it into your text, all the movements that some of them have just stop. like for instance i just clicked one right now and my eye-rolling emoticon is crosseyed, and my laughing emoticon is in mid-smile. i think that's what you're asking about, right?

On My Way to Bed

That be it, T. So, how come I can't see their movement in the post after I've pressed submit? Just that one, that I love so very, very much. I'm looking at them beside this as I type, and none of them are moving. Even when I post, I can't see them move from here. I can see other people's move, not mine though. Is that clear enough? Here, let me try a laughing one. Is it laughing?

While I was looking at the board just now, none of the emoticons were moving. Not mine, not yours, none. Eeerriiee - like the Twilight Zone. Well, it's either my computer, or the board. I hope it's not my computer - that would mean I must, absolutely MUST stop using emoticons!! So it's not just in the posting area that they stop moving, I can't see the movement on the board anymore, either. Tragic loss of fine art.

Hi T,

Should you pass this way again (like tonight), does this mean that pretty soon, all movement on my computer will stop dead? I've never ascribed to the notion of 'shooting the messenger' so, you can tell me. Be honest now.

well, what is it you exactly wish to know? i don't know about all your movement, dear, but there's got to be something wrong if the emoticons stop emoting on your computer.
