As you can see our strategy for London is already beginning to emerge.

Oh, damn, Paula and Margaret, I'd have been in on a "buy ten get money off" thing, but I just grabbed a ticket whilst I had the chance when Ken mentioned it the other day, just to be sure of having one. Be good if you can drum up enough people to get the discount. Surely everyone on here in the UK wants to see this Philip Glass/Leonard Cohen production??

It might be a little premature, but if you have any ideas as to where we could all meet up on the Friday night and/or before the performance on the Saturday, Paula, or anyone else, we will surely need somewhere

Fortunately the shows are not close together, and for June tix are not yet on sale

But some good news-- I made a phone call to Toronto this morning and
Harry Rasky and wife Arelene say they will be thrilled to meet with fans of Leonard Cohen for dinner, and maybe a movie.

Also adds to our attendance list.. ANIA from down under, and Jack Bowerman, and most likely, Eva Poola.

Forgive the double posting, but am also adding this info to the Toronto gathering thread

I am so glad to hear that Dominique Plaisant will be performing soprano duties in Phillip Glass’ Book of Longing, a new work for four voices based on the poetry of Leonard Cohen. Not only is Dominique a phenomenal singer with a four octave range, she’s also a very dear friend from the old days in NYC.

Hi Paula. Well, I think it will be arty, but I don't think it will be farty. I checked on Philip Glass's website to try to answer your question, but he says "this is a departure from my past work" so I guess that means we don't know what to expect! But, he is a very good composer, and he says, "I found Cohen's work intensely beautiful, personal and inspiring". So how can it be anything but good!? I'll be happy to listen to Abba or the BeeGees with you in the interval

I was going to let Tom answer this, but since he's really busy right now [these days], I'll go ahead. The voice that we'll hear in this production will be a recording of Leonard's reading portions of his poetry and will come to us over the sound system.
