Oh, PS, Mrs Trellis,

I know it is a bit cheeky, but as you can definately not come, is there any chance of sending us something personal we can raffle to raise money for the food - It is such a shame you will be unavailable to sample the delights of the bufett first hand :!:

Perhaps you would be able to whip something up for us yourself and post it :) I was going to do quiche but I haven't time to knock one out, perhaps you have :?:

Dont worry about the size of the gift you send as big things quite often come in little packages.

Mrs Trellis,

Diane and I are ever ready to give a hand to the elderly - If you would like to be picked up in North Wales, just shout.

Have you any requirements such as incontinant pads or a rubdown with Radium B, or perhaps you would prefer to be covered with Vicks vapour Rub :?:

Make sure you wear a wooly vest for the cold, Dear, it can sooo shrivel one up :?

We have stocked up on Sanatogen Tonic Wine, in the vain hope you will be able to make it - Diane will make sure she puts a black bag on the passenger seat just in case of little accidents on the way home

Dear Mrs Trellis,

don't mind Ali, my dear friend and accomplice, she does not mean to give you such a hard time.

You said you would be sending us an email. I believe we may already have received it, but we shall arrange for a computer to be at the meet-up, and open your email for everyone to see, so that you can be with us in some small way. Of course, only we know how ironic that last statement was  .

Good wishes,

Diane

NAME BADGES FOR BRISTOL MEET-UP

As most of us are "Cyber Friends" to avoid embarrasment, it would be cool if we all designed and made badges to wear to Bristol.

I will even donate a prize for the most original

Post script.......... Although Pete should be easily identified - as I doubt other LC fans will be dressed in a giant Bunny Suit, clutching Big-Ted (his teddy, he can no longer 'bear' to be parted from) in Bristol.

heavens, I have managed to sign in. How did that happen, then  ?

I will be the one who looks like a tree doing a silly walk.

Half the fun will be guessing who people are. I think it should be our first event 8) .

Even though I'm not going to be there, I vote for this!

Why?

Because even though my hair is my hair; and Pete confidently pronounced he would know me by my smile ~

and my hair was looking like my hair; and I couldn't have been smiling one bit broader ~

Pete did not recognize me because I was not wearing the white tennis shoes I'd said I would be; and a man was walking alongside me talking, when he expected me to be walking alone.

So much for my hair. So much for my smile. Never mind that we were the last two to exit at that stop [perhaps, the only two? I don't remember], my boarding onto that train confirmed with Pete by Phil.

Do NOT tell Pete what you plan to wear  ~ or whether you'll be walking in alone or alongside another person [perhaps someone simply going into the same area of the restaurant as you] .

[Yes, Pete ~ you will never live this down with me  .]

Love,
Lizzy

When I went to the South Wales Meet-up, I kept smiling at a guy stood at the bar drinking - as he was dressed in a faded band t shirt and jeans, and looked quite cool, I thought he must be the first to arrive. He kept smiling back and raising his glass to me. I was sat there with Lee, and quickly realised when Diane came over, he wasn't part of the crowd at all - he probably thought Lee and I were swingers or something (how embarassing :!: ) and I was trying to pick him up

Lizzy, that's funny  . It's great when you have something on someone you can "bring up" every once in a while, isn't it?

Ali, well, you didn't tell us that at the time, did you   ?

Yes, I know....and it's so great, too, as 'they' had bought my ticket well in advance, to ensure the far-better rate, so there was only one time slot that I could possibly be arriving in. Not to mention, the confirmation phone call, at my departure, that I was firmly planted on the train and on my way.

I recognized Pete right off ~ the one standing on the platform, at the bottom of the stairs, looking confused :? .

< * he'll be hearing about this for years * >

*********************************

Regarding Ali's dilemma ~ perhaps, this is the kind of thing you want to first gain some safe distance from, prior to opening it up for questioning  .
