But just saw on the Frontier touring site that they announced the "Blondie and The Pretenders" tour.
As for me, I would LOVE to see the Pretenders live. As well as Leonard, although I did saw him live last year.. And never had the chance to see the Pretenders.

Any help and/or suggestions will be much appreciated,

Hey Wendy,

Don't get me wrong, I would never give up the tickets. It's just annoying they didn't consider those who want to see Blondie, and announced it on the very same date. The thing is that I love them both (I mean Leonard and the Pretenders), but never saw the Pretenders before.. So, it's tough, seems so unfair.

It's also my wife to blame, hehe.
I didn't want to go to Leonard Cohen in the first place last year. But she convinced me (thank her for that), said it might be the last chance to see him live.. so we went. Fantastic show, he blew me away (as people here describe it) and I became an even more fan I was before.
Therefore, when I read about the upcoming tour in Aus, I had no doubts I'm gonna buy tickets. My wife said no, we already saw him, it hasn't been even a year since... But I bought it anyway. So now she also wants to go to the Pretenders very much, and feels upset. And I feel a bit uncomfortable with that..

Don't know what to do.. As I said, it's like one need to choose between two beloved things..
Any chance they will change the dates?..

Hmm, I suppose you can ask yourself: which would disappoint me more, to miss out on LC or to miss out on Blondie and the Pretenders?
I doubt Leonard will come back to Perth again. How often does Blondie and the Pretenders tour? Do you think they will come back in the near future? Also, you've ALREADY bought THE BEST seats in the house for Leonard...we should all be as lucky as you. That is a huge dilemma indeed. It is strange that two HUGE acts are performing on the same evening.
I guess all I would do would be to listen to a lot of each of the artists' albums and pick one you love a tiny bit more. Good luck with the decision making!

Bear in mind that lots and lots of people - not just Leonard fans like myself but also Blondie and Pretenders fans, not to mention the bands themselves - will have already made complex travel and other arrangements and laid out a lot of money on the basis of the confirmed dates. Speaking personally, I buy my tickets then make my diary and travel arrangements as soon as I can after that a) to get everything lined up and b) to get the best fares / hotel rates etc.

Dates do change, yes, but only for reasons which are unavoidable at the time such as ill health (Leonard's lower back injury earlier this year) or exceptional weather conditions (e.g. the Red Rocks postponement this time last year when the venue was under water). Promoters and management spend far too much time negotiating with venues and trying to get dates in line to change them at the drop of a hat. Do you have any idea how many weeks and months it takes to line up these tours? It's also worth bearing in mind that Frontier Touring may have no control over the clash of dates - it could be that November 24 was the only date which worked with venues, Leonard's and the Pretenders' schedules.

The Wellington show apparently sold out within minutes today and a second one has been added on November 1. The Auckland venue is bigger - I think - so may not sell out as fast! I now know of 5 fans who are in almost the same second row seats as last time. It's deja vu!

I'm not involved with the production teams, so I have no idea whatsoever how things are done. I was only suggesting. But..

I can give you one example. Last year when we were visiting Israel there were 3 concerts on the same day. Not local, international. These were: Madonna, Faith No More and MGMT. Tough decision, huh? How do you decide where to go? Apparently people said they won't buy tickets unless they change the dates or add more concerts. Yes, tickets did sold, but not as the production wanted. Eventually, Madonna added another concert, just the day following the first one, and MGMT moved to another day.
So things do can change.

By the time I first contacted Frontier, the tickets for Blondie and The Pretenders weren't even on sale, nor was any information in ticketmaster regarding the tour, so I suggested changes could be done. I just suggested to move one day, one simple day, before or after the 24, that's all. I didn't even speak of adding another shows..

Checking the Blondie and the Pretenders schedule- they perform in Perth on the 24, then the next one is on 27.. so there is a gap. The same with Leonard, on the 18th he is in Adelaide and then on the 24th in Perth, pretty big gap, one would say..

Once again, I just suggested, that's all..

As you said, the thing is I already got tickets for LC, so there is no much choice left. All I can do is hope The Pretenders will come here again in the near future. Gotta say, I thought the same about Leonard, last year. I mean, that that was the last chance to see him live. But here's a surprise- he is coming again.

I managed to miss the presale for fan members! That will teach me for not logging on for a few months. Anyway I still got 2 seats for the dinner show tickets in "A" block for Members Equity Stadium. Bummer is they are in row "S" which is quite a way back from the stage. Still, it is worth it for me even at $499 a ticket. There were tickets available in the side grandstands, platinum I think, but I didn't feel I would see much from those seats.

For those asking about the venue, well for what it is worth I quite enjoyed Police at this venue and I was in the A block which is all on level ground directly in front of the stage. Trouble was, everyone stood up the minute Sting started to sing , so no choice but to stand if you wanted to see. I found it hard after a full day of work and I just wanted to sit down and listen. Yes I know I'm old and boring.

I don't know what will happen with Leonard Cohen. Personally, I don't want to stand up. I want to sit and listen and let the music wash over me. I'll be bummed if I have to stand up, because it literally means I have to catch glimpses between the shoulders of those standing in front of me.

Unfortunately I was spoilt with my end of second row seat at the Sandalford Winery last year. The best seats I've ever had.

If Leonard blew you away last year testdummy, he will do so again this time round so don't worry! I have seen the show in a 700 seater venue in Nova Scotia and St Mark's Square in Venice. I have also seen it at the O2 in London and several characterless sports arenas. All the concerts have one thing in common: they were superb. The ME Bank Stadium would not have been my first choice of venue but I am looking forward to the show nevertheless. Congratulations on your front row seat - and enjoy!!

Totally agree there. I saw Mr Cohen last year at The Entertainment Centre, Sydney, on the two consecutive nights. One evening I was further back in the silver seats and the following evening was seven rows from the stage in the gold section. Both shows were brilliant, of course it was a much smaller venue. Regardless, I am so looking forward to his show at the Acer Arena, Sydney in November. I Am in the 1st Section of 1st elevated row. CANNOT WAIT! As a friend said,"who cares where we sit, IT'S LEONARD!" Sadly, the Acer Arena is a behemoth that I would never buy tickets to see anything in, but Mr Cohen is the exception. THANK YOU L.C. Thank you also to all who maintain and orginally set-up this forum. I wish November were here...
