How wonderful ~ You didn't even have to ask Tanglewood to come along 8) .

Welcome to the Forum, Tanglewood :D ~ even though I won't meet you in Bristol, perhaps, I will in Berlin  :?: :D

Lizzy  It's taken me a few minutes to figure out where your remark came from!

Be assured, however, that the pearls were never included in the unwanted gifts in my closets  They have been, and will be, worn again many times. I just don't get to dress up very often :(

Hi Diane - I'v been a fan for 10/15 years now - I used to hear my mum playing his stuff in the car & always thought how beautifull & poetic his lyrics are. I then saved up and got another album then another etc I just thought wow, the more I heard the more I wanted to hear - dont have the new album though - shame on me, putting it on my christmas list now :D

Will be fantastic to meet some other Cohen fans - get a bit sick of being told all Cohen fans are manic depresives & weird, dark, geeky blah blah blah - who cares - I'm none of those things I just think his music is beautifull & it always makes me smile when I hear him.

Cant wait :D Angie x

Tanglewood
but we are manic, wierd, dark depressives 8)

not sure about the geeky bit though

and put us all together in one room and the mixture becomes volatile.

I remember my first Cohen meet in Lincoln in 1998

there were 80 of us in one hall....all day......in what used to be a mental asylum
and we shut out the light so that we could watch videos of Leonard.

I still have flashbacks but the voices tell me not to worry

Tanglewood. Angie, baby, special lady, it's great that you are coming along. Beautiful and poetic, oh Yes. The new album may take a bit of getting used to. I am still trying to get used to it, but many here think it's one of his best, so I guess you'll have to try it and see what you think.

Well, I am not depressive and I dearly wish I was geeky so's I could get on with computers. Manic, weird and dark, however, they are my middle names.

Pete that sounds brilliant. Funny, but I get those voices, too. And now I now know what they are referring to. The future LC meets I'm going on.

See you later,

Diane

Pete says ~ "not sure about the geeky bit though  "

Lizzy says ~ I distinctly remember the day you forgot to put your plastic, pocket liner in, and you got ink stains all over your shirt  . Liz never did get them out.

Well, here's another serious post to follow, Ali [to keep yours company  ]. I just now realized that you're having on your gathering on my brother's birthday ~ January 7th. Seriously. [Excuse the wink up there, earlier. It does not take away from the seriousness of this post.]

Lizzy, as it is your Brothers birthday, we will all have to toast him with an extra 'Red Needle' (as you can appreciate - it will be difficult for us to manage to drink another one - but we will force ourselves  ) is there a song you would like Lee to dedicate to him :?:
8)
We will also dedicate one to you, and toast you in your absence, so you will be with us in Spirit ( :? tequila  ) rather than body :) .........

Love

Lee and Ali

Oh, how kind of you, Rob and Ali. I appreciate your understanding.

I'll have to think on a song for my brother [his name is Ron, by the way, so you can toast him by name :) ]. Thanks! For me, as "Suzanne" is the one most assuredly known and that can be sung along with by the rest, is the very first song I heard by Leonard and fell in love with his voice, words, and music immediately, and that it's one I have always and will always resonate with, my choice for me is "Hallelujah" :P . Ahhh, okay, let's make it "Suzanne." :D Thanks! Yes, I'll be there in spirit, for sure :D . Perhaps, I'll go buy some cranberry juice, 7-Up, and one of those tiny, airplane- and sample-size bottles of tequila and really join you in spirit :) .

Enjoy Ali and Lee 8) , and all the rest :D ,

Lizzy, I think to join us in Spirit - one of the XL bottles of tequila and 2 litres of Cranberry may be a little more 'near the mark' (not that I am infering for a second that we may over-indulge  )

Hallelujah and Suzanne it is :!:

Oh, dear ~ now this is beginning to sound like an assignment  , I won't even get to hear my songs :( , and the only spirit you'd be aware of would be a moaning and groaning one :? . I'll just stick with a symbolic sharing in spirit, and let you folks go into the real deal  .

Love,
Lizzy :D
